I tried to setup something like this for years between mates and forum goers, but no one ever put their money where their mouth is/was.
Have now opened a bike workshop with (very large) attached self service bike (and cargo bike) storage with all the tools you could ever imagine. Going very well!
We are close to selling bullitts, fancied one for years and with help of the boost to the sector that the new Scottish eBike/ecargoBike loan seems to be generating I think it'll do really well.
Just tried a packster 60 out, the bosch drive worked fine, though find the shimano steps system (only been able to demo e6000, as almost no one has e8000 yet) more subtle, especially at the fine control end of the spectrum. Liked the packster steering (1:2) for setting off and low speed fiddling about, but above 10mph especially with weight on it got very fidgety. Also the front suspension fork on the demo model had done 600 miles and was in a bad way (coating coming off the stanchions and you could feel the play in it whilst rocking it back and forth on the brakes).

We had a skate jam roaming the streets of dresden today. No problem. I'm still collecting material for a proper trailer, this thing is sketchy as hell.

Omnium Cargo Bike up on eBay currently. Not for me unfortunately, as most of my cargo bike money has just gone on a new boiler!! But hopefully I’ll be back in the market for some similar sooner rather than later.

Woow, brilliant. How far did you have to ride that ?
-

Just a few km. The cycling infrastructure in Copenhagen makes it less dodgy; wide cycle lanes, plenty of turning space and the cars and bikes are used to it.
We also have a trailer for the days when you really need to bring a lot of stuff along. -

Oh, ok, but still, I’d have been tempted to put a caution long vehicle sign on the back.
We’ve recently taken down an old cold frame and fence in the back garden. I’ve been holding off taking to the tip just do I can do it with the cargo bike, when I get it.

It was 30 cm less than the max permitted lenght, but yeah that might have been a good idea
-
• #1789
I was only joking, but do you have a max length for a bike in Denmark ?...... I wonder if we have that in the UK..

• #1790
help! I cant find some suitable bars...
I want something thats about 750mm wide, sweep back of 25-45 degrees, rise would be nice, aluminium ideally, black, not fussed on clamp size...
Soma Osprey ideal but just not wide enough!

FUCK YES.
Thank you!
-
• #1793
3.5 meters long and 1 meter wide is the maximum. Wider if it's got more than two wheels. No bars wider than 70 cm.

You’re welcome.
I keep looking for an excuse to get one myself. -

That's pretty interesting! Does anyone know if there's any similar laws/rules in the UK? When I have particularly wide/tall/long loads I occasionally get asked if it's legal and I genuinely have no idea. I sort of assume that it's so uncommon for people to be using bikes in that way in the UK that nobody has bothered making any specific laws around it but could very easily be wrong and breaking the law every day.

This is so good, easily one of my forum favourites!

Thanks a lot! I'm in love with it too. Adding a back wheel with a prototype hub motor at the moment, because I want to use it for commuting when the weather gets shitty. Owning two cars still, but both have not been moved for 3 months now and i want to keep it like that for a while...

So... after a bit of faff with a front brake hitting the spokes and me deciding on binning the dynamo in favour of a pro4 to solve it I fitted a 180mm rotor and its all happy again!
Pre ordered those Stooge bars, just need to get me some new guards from work today and sort out replacing the chain, finally a new set of cables and we should be golden.
Last little project piece is a tandem stoker stem extension mod to give little human some bars on the back! - the orange section is an old steerer tube cut off, just needs to be 100mm longer, I could move her forward on the deck, but I like her having lots of room, in a few years with no2 i will need to, but for now it works nicely!

Monday night I saw someone tanking it on a long & loaded e-cargo bike along Montpelier Road in Ealing. Looked like a Riese & Muller, but I could be mistaken as it was dark and just caught a glimpse... anyone on here, always good to see them in action... :)
