  • Used a bit of wood to fit even more stuff on an already overloaded Bullitt today. Pretty sketchy on the cobbles.

  • Also, I found an Instagram account of what appears to be some sort of Japanese sausage cargo bike gang.

  • Dachshund cargo bike gang

    I'd roll with them.

  • I have a new life goal.

    ..ha, that's nice / cute!

Actually the longer I look at it I still like it, but something seems "wrong" with it,
as is the seattube looks like it should be pushed backwards, for aesthetics, and (maybe) also for handling? Can' figure out what the ride is like by looking at the picture to be honest.

You'll notice that on a lot of production cycletrucks; I'm told it's partly due to the geometry needing to compensate for the smaller wheel size so you don't end up with a twitchy mess.

  • We got one of these at the shop the other day and I was lucky to enough to be the one to build it. The version we have has a speed motor, and it absolutely rips!

  • Fuck me, how have I not noticed there is like 0 R&M presence in this thread?

  • ^ this looks serious!

  • It's a Cadillac! It was previously my favorite bike in the shop. Surprisingly more responsive and nimble than R&Ms other "hardtail" bakfiets (excluding the red Packster 40 I posted above)

  • Would love to have a go!
    How heavy is it?
I don't even want to know the price.

  • This guy is another killer. 20" thru-axle boost wheelset. Total wheelbase of 1240mm. Stores by folding the steering mast and propping the bike up on it's rear.

  • How heavy is it?

It's beefy, somewhere in the 30-35kg range depending on the build kit. MSRP is about 5,400EU

    Also very nice.
    Never heard of R&M before..

  • I hadn't either until I started working the eBike scene a year ago. They've been around for a bit, but their target demographic is definitely more affluent.

  • We've got a baby on the way and somehow I've managed to turn this into a reason to buy a new bike, Woowhoo

We're looking at the logistics of work and nursery. I'm a fairly flexible in terms of when I need to be in the office/ home working so in all likelihood I will be dealing with most of pickups and drop offs. We only have one car and the wife will need that every day. The nursery is about 5 miles from home and on my way to/from work.

I don't like the idea of a tag along trailers, or those dreadful looking seats which you bolt to your bike. So it has to be a Cargo bike, doesn’t it? a larry vs harry bullitt looks ace, but way too much bike for my needs and, if I'm sensible out of my price range.

I'm thinking an Omnium cargo might fit the bill, it’s about the right price range ish. The issue I have is I’m struggling to find many example of them being used for transporting little people, or the likely price of seats / covers.

Does anybody have any other suggestions I should be considering? or useful advice ?

  • Get an Omnium, they sell a seat system now check it out on their blog

I don't have a child but I've used mine to transport my girlfriend and our dog and it's pretty comfy for them and super easy to handle for me

  • Brilliant, How did I not see that! and looks to be a very reasonable price to
