  • Also, the ridiculous dry bag arrived with a broken buckle. Even though I bought it off an ebay seller, I emailed Oxford to see if they had any spares that I could buy (I could not be fucked packaging and sending the bag back to the seller for half of a buckle) and they responded straight away saying that they didn't stock those particular buckles as spares, but found a full set of two other buckles in their returns department and are posting them out to me gratis. .... But still, a nice touch from Oxford.

Not only did they send them out for free, it was next day delivery. Just arrived.

  • Don't quite trust the almost-4-year old to be in the kid corral by themselves (occasional lapses in attention, occasional bouts of being a contrary little bastard), so picked up one of these for when she is in there by herself. Three point harness for her, and the other strap cinches around the kid corral bars to keep her mostly in place.

Her big sister polices her very effectively when they are both on the back, so she doesn't have to wear it all the time.

  • Ah fuck, edited my post instead of replying to it. Ah well.

  • Bike cool cargo bike, with a number plate, for sale at the Bike Project: https://shop.thebikeproject.co.uk/collections/bikes/products/kronan-transportrad-bike-large-b-21470

  • This is v cool but optimistically priced IMO. Single speed, roller brakes and 27kg base weight. I wouldn’t fancy many hills (up or down) or carrying much of anything with it as it is :)

  • Have a link for this? I need something similar but lik 30/50% as big lol

  • Oxford Aqua T70 Waterproof 70 Litre Roll Bag

Search that on eBay, some available for £46. They do a T30 and a T50.

  • It's not single speed, got an 8 speed nexus.

    ALSO A NUMBER PLATE.

  • More cargo fun for me. Omnium sold. Just sorting out details for my new bike. I'm planning a fairly interesting build.

  • I’ve used the Lomo duffle bags on my Omnium. Perfect fit for the front rack! I’ve got the 40L, they also do 30/60/90l variants

  • For those lacking the parvenu desire of joining the bourgeois at the £5k+ mark, with a bit of luck, what ebikes could be found on the second hand market around the 500 sterlings but not too much over that would effortlessly help a 80kgs rider push no more than 100kgs on a trailer over the gently rolling hills of East London?

  • Don't think you'll have much luck finding and ebike for that price second hand, there'll be some ropey DIY deliveroo bikes on there for that mark.

Would be better off putting the £500 to converting yourself. For £600 you can do a decent conversion.

  • What have you got in mind?

  • Bafang seems to be what people install, plenty of examples in this thread.
Agree that 500 is very unlikely to get you an e bike that works.
Is swapfiets in London? It's a long term rental thing and their ebikes is what almost all delivery riders use in Berlin.

  • Ah swapfiets E-Bike is 65 a month so makes no sense.

  • I think a 250W bafang mid drive kit plus a battery would cost you about £600

Put it on an old mountain bike and you'll be golden. It's pretty straightforward to install.

  • Oh dear

  • Oh dear 😅. Have seen them in a worse state tbf

  • Where's that pic from??

  • Hammersmith on the grass at furnivall gds near the Dove pub.

    Front wheel missing (obv)
Not locked to anything but itself

  • Looking to upgrade the bungee cords on my dad bike, with something a bit less eye gougy, what are the recommendations for carabiner bungee cords, looking for around 60cm in length, maybe less, but definitely don't need any 100cm or longer types.
If I'm missing an alternative let me know

    Thanks

  • Bungee cords with a plastic cleat instead of a hook are great. You can adjust the length easily and double them if you've got weird size stuff. These ones we get in NZ, no idea in uk sorry

  • First foray into ditching the Hamax. Seat belt ends bolt satisfyingly into the clubhouse mounting points.
