  • for the record. this was an incredible gig. best i've seen them play. all of you points missed out.

damn! thought this would have been snapped up quick. oops...

  • bummer. found myself with five spare tickets yesterday (how did that happen?). managed to find takers for all but one. really was an absolutely cracking gig. they're really on form at the moment.

they played lots of stuff off the new album but, as there's not a bad song on it, no complaints from me. started with some very old stuff rom the 5 songs ep, a fair few bits from piquaresque and her majesty and only a couple from hazards of love (which despite being underwhelmed at the time is now growing on me). they did the whole crane wife trilogy in order and the mariners revenge songs as an encore. they must have played for well over two hours. great set.

i filmed the second encore of june hymn. god, what a beautiful song.

  • right - whos going to see Kyuss?

    sat or sunday?

  • Caturday ...

  • interpol at shepherds bush last night. meh.

  • really? glad I didnt go now.

  • Saturday for Kyuss for me

Buzzoven have cancelled their euro tour due to health concerns..

  • ahhh it was okay. was stuck up on the balcony. good view from there but the sound wasn't up to much. no bottom end in the bass. i like interpol but i'm not a mega-fan so got a bit bored waiting for them to get round to "untitled". the guitarist's studied moves started to annoy me after a while. he looked like a man mentally compiling a shopping list and occasionally remembering that he was on stage and chucking in one of three or four carefully practiced moves. i swear you could practically hear him thinking:

"eggs, bread, milk, nod head intesely, tomatoes, mushrooms, salady things, do a little skip backwards, a chicken for sunday, oh, better get some lemon and thyme then, do we have any garlic? do exagerated strummy arm thing, better get some anyway... cereal, oh damn i forgot to get fruit...." etc.

  • Anyone up for pregig drinks on Saturday?

Bull and Gate tends to get rammed, anyone got any good suggestions?

  • my saturday +1 is now questionable, but i still have a sunday pass.

i wanted to go to both, but it isn't a live nation gig, so there were favours needed.
