Seriously tempted by Einsturzende Neubauten on 19 November: I saw them at the Forum a while back, my main hesitation is about the state of my ears. They got a bit mashed by GSY!BE followed by an infection, and have not been the same since - high pitched whistle most of the time, intermittent rumbling in the right ear, trips to hospital, MRI scans etc.

It'll be worth it...

Neubauten? In.

Anyone going to Pure Love at the underworld on Friday?

• #1057
Pure Love might be the worst band I've ever seen live
Not that I went on purpose, they were a support

Got Mrs Y tickets for Howling Bells for mother's day, only a couple of weeks away now. I like all the "Bends" era Radiohead styled guitars on the previous albums so really looking forward to this. Only heard one song from the forthcoming album, too.

and some goody bags turned up just now - CDs, t shirts, badges and stickers, but the attached poster tube was empty
mind you, not sure Mrs Ludd would have wanted Pixies posters up in the house

And Owen Pallett last night was fucking brilliant. He's such an awesome musician and seems like a decent bloke as well.

^^Aeroplane over the Sea is definitely worth the time. The production is a bit peculiar at times but the song-writing is pretty amazing.

Got two tickets for Slint in August at the Electric. Apparently, the missus would rather eat her own face....
Anyone want the second ticket?

Saw the Violent Femmes last night. A great time was had by all. Brought back lots of good memories.
Can you recommend to me a similar, but younger band. I'm in the mood for going gigging again.

Goodness, I saw Slint a number of years ago at the Forum. They played Spiderland, which I do like, but they were totally up their own artskool arses and I had to leave, it was painful.
