Anyone had Bursitis?
Yes, in both hips. F**k me it hurt. Why do you ask, lynx?

Twice. Greek girl. Very accommodating.

Have been doing the ice and rest, the swelling is reduced, but walking is more of a problem than cycling. Seem to favour the other leg as the lead leg and not getting out of the saddle.

^^ Tush! You get away with far too much of that cheek on here, B&D!

Have it in a knee, housemaids knee not clergymans knee. How did they treat it in hips?

Don't ask. She's now a contortionist.

Its a swollen sack, not relief for a swollen sack.

The two go hand in hand, or sack in hand.

I was running a lot then, so I had to stop running for a while.
I still cycled as per normal, as that didn't hurt.
Docs said there was very little they could do.

Come to think of it, Bursitis does sound like a very plausible Astérix character...

Yeah docs are sort of the same thing, just ice and rest but that seems a bit hard not to walk around. It really hurts when kneel and I forget.

I haven't placed all my weight on my knees since 1998. I had a motorcycle accident in 1997 and had my right knee rebuilt. The surgeon advised me that I was never going to run a marathon or play contact sports, but if I was careful I could still ski, cycle and lead a relatively normal life.
It locks out from time to time (which the missus finds quite amusing) and I do still have to be careful, but it's still working fine.
looks for wood
Put paid to dogging.

She has a good sense of humour, your missus.
God knows, she needs it ;)
-
• #642
She said it's a reminder to her that no offspring of ours will ride a motorcycle.
-
• #643
Well just don't do anything that makes her ban bicycles too.

We're taking them to Dubai.

Wha??? You're moving to Dubai???
(Wrong thread for this but OMG!)
-

Yep. If there's anything that's assisted with the decision it's this fucking dogs hit weather.

Apologies for the thread derail...

Got anothers doctors verdict as it wasn't getting better. Its bursitis (lower aka clergymans knee, this makes me feel like a good catholic boy) and patellar tendonitis. So a few stabs with a needle and a few days of pain and soreness and all will be better.

I'm glad it's not so nasty.
Knee pain's a bastard though.

Thank you
Odd thing was cycling was fine overall, just annoying that walking hurt. But things will get better.
yes
rest and ice were the first treatments
then stretching and strengthening of the rest of my knee
adjusting to higher cadence cycling put less load on the knee as well
