Hi Matt. glad you're back. We have no Newcastle teams confirmed so far. I'm not even sure which players are definitely available. So far I think we have You?, Ol, me, Luke, Steve?(haven't seen him so can't confirm), maybe Nige? Tristan is unsure if he can get out of work commitments and I believe Ed is away, not sure when he's back. Col thinks there are 5 teams traveling down, plus at least one floating player, and there's one guy (Max) who's arriving Friday night and needs a place to crash.

Luke and Ol are handling the modifications to the court
Luke's done some publicity, posters and facebook stuff
Oliver's made a trophy
Steve's bringing his electronic scoreboard
Majid may be bringing some timber to help fill the gaps in the court
I'm sorting the goals and a few other bits and pieces.
We still need to decide on a format and print brackets or whatever
Bound to be other stuff I've missed.....

Plan is to get as many people as possible at the court as early as we can (like 9.00am) to stake our claim on the court and to set up. Not sure what time kick-off is. Guessing 10 or 11. There may be more info on Luke's facebook thingy.

so far we have posters advertising polo in newcastle but nothing tourney specific. but thats ok coz we all know and so our visitors (i hope). A few locals are aware/ have been given a heads up. the goals have nets but no crossbar( JOHN! that pipe i had is a different bore. got thinner stuff(which will bend) or bigger stuff- either will gaffer tape up nicely so lets not worry). rules have apparently been printed out. Brackets are getting done, i think. there is a trophie. word was on saturday that 5 teams are coming down? dont know who's in from newcastle for certain.

As for teams, me and luke are happy to play in a team together as the 2 with the least tourny experience. not a b team, or a c team but way down as an 'S team'... a 'Smoking Nuns' team (we're blue skying it..)

What say anyone else.?

We still need spoke cards doing as a memento, if anyones into it? Thought i might have a crack but wont have time before saturday so the baton is rolling around on the floor about to slip under the sofa,.. unless anyone...takes ...it.......on..........

Just had a PM from Max. He's arriving by train from Cambridge at 10.40pm on Friday. If you could put him up, that'd be great. I think he's the French guy with Mad Max on his wheeldiscs.

Drinking is an integral part of Newcastle polo sessions - you'll be fine.

I would say here is definitely the place to post. Most of the Newcastle regulars aren't in the Facebook group.

We should easily be able to get two Newcastle teams sorted. So far there is only Oliver, Me and Ed (if he makes it back from London) as The Smoking Nuns.

Then surely we've got another team in John, Matt and Steve, who said he is working a night shift the night before but is still coming and playing polo...commitment! :D
