What was the comment to Nikko at the end, ovee the radio? It sounded like "well done, great area under the curve"?
-
• #5728
I interpereted it as being congratulated for being the quickest overall while not being absolutely quickest on the track for most of the race. Racing at a controlled speed without having to push the car.

Yeah me too, maximal integral kind of thing. It was just oddly technical to hear over race radio.

I wonder if the Liberty Media takeover will mean free coverage of every race for Virgin Media subscribers? I hope not, even though I am one, I hate the trend for forcing consumers into certain subs just to get access to content (hello BT Sport)

I'd guess not for a while at least...

Shit, why not just round up to 5 years and retire at 90, by 'retire' I mean 'disappear into the ether and become more powerful than you can possibly imagine'

Unlikely; I work for another of their subsidiaries & their cross-business cooperation is little-to-none. A vague idea of producers working together with broadcasters for mutual benefit was aired once but it was met with a collective "meh".

Hamilton .704 behind Rosberg for Qualifying. Theories? Is Rosberg nearly a second faster than Lewis on one lap? To me, I wonder if Hamilton ran his Qualies in race mode, as opposed to Qualy mode? Less stress on the engine?

I'm going with mechanical issues reducing amount on on track time so they didn't have enough time to get the setup sorted.
Lewis' long run pace was nothing to shout about so I don't think he was running a race specific setup.

Unbelievable....

Great battle between the Red Bulls.
Feel sorry for Hamilton. Driven the perfect race and than pow!

Harsh penalty for Rosberg, I thought that was an awesome pass!
Also, fantastic race from Alonso!

Nice point for Palmer. Thats been coming for a while. He's certainly put the effort in. Also glad to see the McLarens being competitive. As for Lewis, its very bad luck. Nico must have given his pocket Buddha an extra polishing.

Euph?

Lewis doing his best to get in the conspiracy theory thread...
Higher power = Niki Lauda? ;)
Seriously though, bloody unlucky season for him. But if (as has been postulated elsewhere) his style can put more stress on the hardware, I can see his point that the team do have to answer why they haven't adapted to the situation.

Disagree on Palmer, not seen anything noteworthy from him this season and wouldn't notice if he wasn't in the sport next season. Same goes for Nasr, Ericsson & GutiƩrrez.

The fault of Mercedes units do seem to be incredibly abnormally distributed towards Hamilton. The chances of him having the only 4 engines go out of the 43 used so far is around 1 in 2,000 by my calculations.
My only possible explanation is that it's a combination of Mercedes pushing the hardware more than others and Hamilton driving it harder than Rosberg. Though it's anybody's guess.
I do find the conspiracy theories especially hilarious this time around though. "F1 team deliberately ensures they don't win the championship at the circuit of their title sponsor after inviting a bunch of VIPs from said title sponsor".

Still the best driver in the field IMO.

Such a shame the river didn't flow his way...

I always loved Senna for that.
He named his best driver as a privateer from the UK karting ring.

That's some tidy driving.

Oh dear. I see Mr. Hamilton has gone into Epic Flounce prima donna princess mode.
Jesus, that trophy...
Also, Alonso's laughter when told he might be able to take Grosjean, absolutely hilarious!
