  • Hope both Mercedes can stay reliable for the last gasps. That was a proper lunge! Good work.

  • Loved Ricciardos' facial hair (looks sort of supermario to me) and as always his ability.

  • Yep, awesome racing in the mid field. I loved red bull's strategy mayhem with vettel that turned out genius.

Wish we could see more Bahrain style fighting between the mercs. Probably won't happen though, since Lewis is just that bit better.

  • Lewis said that he was pleased to outsmart Rosberg. What does that mean? I have a theory. I think Rosberg is not only (much) better educated than Lewis, he's also more intelligent than Lewis. And I think Rosberg is just simply brilliant at comparing lap data and then looking to copy it......and that was why he was ahead of Schumey, and why he sometimes outmatches Lewis. I don't think he has the talent of Lewis or Schumey (at his prime), but Nico is just plain clever.

So, did Lewis get fed up, and sold Nico a dummy? It seems that Nico easily was ahead in the earlier strategy, then Lewis romped away on the harder tyres. I'm wondering if Lewis sacrificed his optimal qualy set up, so his second tyres would be where he'd have the real advantage? Did Lewis expect Nico to totally copy his qualy set up? Maybe I've over thought it, but that's how it looked to me.

Also, it looked like the Renault engines got a boost across the board for this race? Was that my imagination, or did an upgrade come through for all Renault running teams?

  • It was an upgrade of fuel for this race for the Renault PUs.

  • A good and well deserved win by Rosberg. Excellent finish by Jenson. I hope he's still in F1 next year and with a good team.

  • So who are the #3 drivers gonna be next year?

  • Del Boy
    Rodney and
    Grandad

  • Alonso & Button?

  • That's what I was wondering, yeah

  • so lewis just has to follow nico to the title in abu dhabi .... forgone conclusion ?

  • I say it every year, but i think i am done with f1. it is an absolute shambles that a bloke that has won double the races of his teammate in a two-horse race* has to finish second in the last race to secure the title. this x2 points thing is bollocks.

oh well, at least they get the exciting last race, which is all that matters...

*i realise there are other factors

  • Assuming no quali/race mistakes, yes. Whether that's a safe assumption is another thing. Then again the Mercs seem to be able to recover to the podium no matter what happens in quali.

  • Has anyone been following formula e? It might be an exciting alternative to the farce that is the Bernie show. God that man is a hateful little twat.

  • Formula E. Not in any way exciting. Apart from that crash in the first race, which I imagine was exciting for the drivers.

  • Haven't seen any coverage. Where's it at?

  • ITV4 as far as I recall.

  • I agree with BRM, and not because I'm a Hamilton fanboy. If Hamilton retires and Nico wins, then Nico is champion, Bernie may have thrown his last dice.

In the rush to keep changing things, to make it exciting for TV, Bernie may have just realised that his idea is one of the worst ever, and F1 would be discredited around the world, and especially in the USA...... Where Lewis has an unbelievable fan base. I think Bernie will be praying for Lewis to win. Only the Germans will feel Nico should be World Champion with half the wins of the guy who could end up in second place.

  • Bernie's too preoccupied with being a stupid old cunt to care about youngsters like Lewis & Nico...

    Autosport

    SniffPetrol's interpretation

  • I don't see why they just didn't revert to the old points system which was put in place for the exact same reason when Schumacher was winning everything. And if you're going to give a race double points, at least do it at an exciting one like Spa or Interlagos.

  • I agree with BRM, and not because I'm a Hamilton fanboy. If Hamilton retires and Nico wins, then Nico is champion, Bernie may have thrown his last dice.

Hamilton's lead is only seventeen points. If he retires and Rosberg wins (or finishes second), the double points will be irrelevant.

  • What he^ said.

  • The writing on the tyres is too small, they'll never be able to read that.

  • I like Werthers originals....does that mean I'm old?
