Gutted.
I'm hearing pretty reliable rumours that Kimi has signed for Ferrari for next year.

While I love Raikkonen and am a Ferrari fan I really hope it's not true. With a bbig shake up in the rules nobody really knows what's going to happen in terms of the relative performance of the teams and for Ferrari to have the best chance of suceeding they're best sticking with Alonso and Massa. Raikkonen and Alonso would just take points of each other and knock each other out of WDC contention. I'm hoping for the same line up next year, if not I hope Hulkenberg gets the seat.

To the bookies!

If DiResta gets the seat I will attempt to eat my own head.

He won't so your melon remains intact.

Any reason why they couldn't be moving Alonso on/resting him for a year & getting Kimi as cover to drive with Massa?
Alonso's been having a right cry recently & he could do with being told to sit out for a while...
-
• #3583
If that happened Alonso would take dummy spitting to thermonuclear levels, the only guaranteed outcome would be that he would not be driving for Ferrari any more.

Kimi being signed is one of the main reasons Alonso has been throwing tantrums recently. Ferrari were hoping to have Alonso and Kimi, both with equal status and no team orders. This won't make Alonso happy and there are also reports of Renault making a comeback by buying into Lotus again, and may even try to lure Alonso back to Lotus/Renault. Which could happen. Not sure when though. In the mean time Lotus will most likely replace Kimi with Hulkenburg.

If he does go they'll be quite a stong contender for winning the WCC.

• #3586
I think it's about time 'Rarri stopped bending over for people.
And besides, no-one celebrates a win quite like Kimi...

It's confirmed.

Worst kept secret in F1.

I don't think it was ever really meant to be a secret.
But yeah won't be long before Fernando throws a hissy fit.

It wouldn't be unjustifiable. He's been in a car that's been nowhere near that of the Red Bull and come incredibly close twice in three years in his inferior car mainly due to the fact that the team put their efforts primarily into supporting his WDC bid. It's hard to imagine Ferrari will get the jump on Red Bull next year so in the forseeable future he won't win another WDC (at least not with Ferrari). For Ferrari it's the right thing to do as it means they'll probably have a good run at the WCC as they've got the strongest driver pairing on the grid. Many would argue they've got the two best drivers on the grid.

But what they really need is:

Is that his hand?

Looks like Webber has gone too early? He'd be a good fit to take over from Kimi. A proper professional, and quick too. His consistency was a problem I believe, but still, he's better than Massa. #
Now, wherefore art thou Massa? -

Massa >>>> DTM

• #3595
I'm hoping Lotus paired with Hulkenberg.

^ worth a good bet.

Andrew Benson claims that McLaren are targeting Alonso. As far as I can see this does not appear to be based on much. However if it does happen it would be interesting.
-
• #3599
Alonso hasn't said very much about Kimi. Maybe because Luca told him to STFU.

Yes.
But not often enough. They seem to make a bit of a song and dance out of it: http://www.foxsports.com.au/motor-sports/formula-one/unpleasant-wake-up-call-for-several-f1-drivers-as-drug-testers-come-knocking/story-e6frf3zl-1226592076095
