Anybody know who will be replacing James Humphrey at BBC Formula 1?
A trained chimp could do a better job than that cretin.
And I'm overjoyed for SebVet.
Toy-thrower supreme will have to wait until next year...
What was it Senna said - "after first place there's nothing".

bloody good race that. im gutted for Alonso that he didn't quite take it, he definitely deserved it more than Vettel. It was nice seeing Massa doing well in front of his home crowd too.
Alonso didn't win a single race since July, why did he deserve it more than Vettel? Vettel won 4 races on the bounce.

Because that Ferrari is a pile of shit.

That was a very enjoyable race

Good result for Button. I hope he shows Perez a clean pair of heels for the whole of next season.

We agree on something!

Button suffered during the middle part of this season from being the no.2 driver to someone with a very different style of driving and therefore setup. The developments on the car were all beneficial to Lewis and deleterious to Button, especially with regard to getting heat and grip into the tyres.
Next year the cars will be developed for him and his driving style, which should give him a real boost, and a consistent set of results. Perez will have to use Jenson's setup as his starting point. I've not studied the man so I have no idea if he is a smooth flowing driver like Button or a physical driver like Hamilton.

I thought that the drivers both had access to the "improved performance packages" and sometimes they used them and sometimes they didn't. The cars are set up for the individual drivers as far as suspension and wing settings are concerned.
-
• #3037
They do, but even a team with McLaren's budget may not have the time and resources to develop and test parts for both drivers, especially given the limits on testing time you have now. Clearly McLaren have made the car work well for both drivers, but it took all season.

Quite a spectacular finish to season.
Lucas could not have written a better script, with the young Vettel stranded on the first lap.
Di Resta v lucky on that high speed off. That Pit wall comes round pretty quick.
Plus. What was Raikkonen up to? AWOL.
-
• #3039
The gate Raikkonen drove up to was open in previous races, he'd assumed it'd be open again.
I guess he's missing having pace notes and a co-driver.

• #3040
He was probably still arseholed.

Can just imagine the radio conversation:
"Kimi, where are you going?"
"Leave me alone! I know what i'm doing!
...shit"

Drive.

You could tell he was chuffed upon receipt.

So Williams drop Senna for Bottas for next year. Can't say I'm surprised. I'm told Bottas is as fast, if not faster, than Maldonado in the simulator and practice laps, so depending on his race craft and if Maldonado can sort it out Team Willy could be quite competitive next year.

Just heard the news that Ferrari are considering an appeal of Sunday's result on the grounds that Vettel overtook illegally. The number of places he made up during the race suggests it's not unlikely, but it seems very odd for it to not have been spotted until now. I'm intrigued to know what the evidence is.

I'm with you, in wanting to see what occurs. I hope Alonso gets it......by one point.

Highly unlikely.

Fucking stupid. The championship has been decided. End of.

The internet's already dissected what happened and the general consensus appears to be that Vettel's overtakes were all OK whereas Alonso actually had a few dodgy braking incidents under yellow flags which he probably ought to have been penalised for.
Still, a friend is quite surprised at the popularity of a video he put together.
