Just watched this:

Look at the way the pit crew are dressed at 2.42!

Williams 1st and 2nd, lapping the rest of the field. Doubt that'll happen this weekend.
And it looks like there might be a bit of rain.

A Webber win. Thank the Lord for that.

Internal investigation at Marussia finds that the car was not at fault for the crash at Duxford.
Funny that.
"We have now concluded our investigatory work and can again focus on the priority, which continues to be Maria's wellbeing. In that regard, we continue to support Maria and the De Villota family in any way we can."
What they forgot to add:
"We will do all of this while trying oh so very hard to not point out that the driver was a woman, driving a fast car, and that it is in no way the fault of us or our engineers. We cannot afford a lawsuit. kthnxbai"

It was the strangest accident. Apparently she somehow drove into a lorry that had been parked at the side of the track. It seems the rear loading panel had been lowered and may have stuck out over the track? If all that was true, it would have been hard to see it till too late.

The early explanation that I heard on the radio was that as she slowed the anti-stall kicked in, causing the car to suddenly accelerate- I imagine that the investigation has removed that as a possible explanation?
I suppose it could be as simple, and tragic, as someone having dropped the tail-gate and the driver not having seen it, Ashe is quite correct when he says it would have been difficult to see side on.
But, would you go that close to a lorry?
My natural reaction would be to give obstacles a wide berth just in case.

I thought tail lifts were now required by law to have flashing amber lights on them to prevent this kind of thing from happening.

The photo I saw was of an articulated trailer and it was suggesting the car had driven under the pivot point and the overhanging bit had struck her, but it may well just have been a photo of a lorry at the circuit used to illustrate the article and have no direct relevance to the incident.
Regardless, it sounds like an extremely unfortunate event :(

Not sure if this has been covered already, but there's a freebie weekend for the Sky F1 coverage on Virgin. I'm a tight git and I'm curious to see what the coverage is like? Bastard splitters.

Not the results I wanted to see, but none-the-less, a good race. Too bad Lewis had to retire so early, but excellent that Jenson finished second (after Vettel was demoted to fifth place for his illegal overtake). Alonso continues to how good he is, and Schumacher surprises me by having the fastest lap of the race, which was one second faster than Jenson's fastest lap. Good for Kimi to end up in third place, that will boost him.
Roll on the next one; and at least Lewis knows that the McLaren is plenty quick, so will feel optimistic.....in dry conditions.

solid result from the Saubers too, especially considering their qualifying result.

Not totally convinced by the new podium interviews, but thought Lauda was less annoying than Stewart.

Good drive Lewis; for the pole and for the win. Kimi is getting back to form, and a good drive from him to bag second place.

Christ, Anthony Hamilton really is a cunt.
-
• #2721
Or, the alternative view is that he wants to sign with Button's manager, and is trying to get out of his contract with Hamilton.
-
• #2722
To be honest, I already thought he was a cunt. I doubt Di Resta would think that blatantly lying about something like that is the best way to get out of a contract either.

Anthony Hamilton is clearly a driven man, in every sense of the word.
If everything was going swimmingly then why did his apparently gifted offspring choose other management?
