  • No. Just about anybody that writes about F1, says that Lewis is the fastest driver at the moment. Other drivers grudgingly agree.

  • As I have already said the variables in F1 are too great to really tell who is the fastest driver, the fact that he has scored 2 poles from 8 races so far this season would certainly imply he is up there and he has been consistently scoring points but I see no evidence that he is the fastest. If you could point me to an interview where another top flight driver acknowledges that Lewis Hamilton is faster than them/the fastest driver on the grid I would be surprised.

  • Have all you Hamilton haters stopped your girly bitching and "he's faster than him" pointless arguments now then?? Jeeze it's tiresome!

In case you might have missed it Anthony Davidson broke his back in a Le Mans crash today. Seems he'll be ok though but might miss the Sky F1 presentation for a bit...

    The crash: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fzw5i14ewXY

  • It's only F1 writers, some F1 drivers and ga2g who thinks that Hamilton's the best thing since the invention of the thermos flask.

I still think he's got a lot to prove.

    That'll be a no, then.

    Sigh...

  • Anthony Davidson broke his back in a Le Mans crash today.

I saw this clip earlier and the crash itself didn't look that violent, especially as he was trying to get out too.

Apparently the Ferrari driver didn't see himself as deserving much blame for that, plonker.

  • Two things at the moment in Formula 1 just are not compatible with each other. On the one hand, there are cost cutting initiatives for all teams from next year, yet at the same time, new engines are being touted. These engines will be too expensive for smaller teams, and private suppliers like Cosworth may be left out completely. Bernie is very against the new engines also, so I hope sense may prevail.

  • Turbo is the way forward.

Cost cutting in F1 is a bit meh. The big teams will always find ways around any restrictions by outsourcing and putting 'projects' through ancillary ventures so the idea is kind of flawed. The small teams will just have to work it out.

  • Turbos aren't new to F1. If that was all the change was, there would be no problem.

  • If they have to use pump fuel then going back to turbo charging would be very interesting.

Last time they were running crazy fuels, if they have to put up with the crap that road cars run on then the technical innovation will be much more relevant.

Better for them at this point to switch to running on alcohol, for a number of reasons.

  • At least Lewis will have something to drown his sorrows with.

  • And something else to blame.

  • Methanol would be a better choice than Ethanol for environmental reasons- not the best stuff to drink however.

  • Methanol it is then. Using it will keep the tofu-chomping soap dodgers happy and it allows the teams to develop turbo charging again.

And Lewis gets a drink too.

  • FFS will you shut up about Lewis, b&d. We get it. You don't like him. Get the fuck over it, you're behaving like a child!

  • Why should I? Certain contributors to this thread see him as some kind of second coming?

You're right - I can't stand him. At least Schumacher has won the title seven times, so he's allowed to have a massive ego. Lewis' single win ranks him alongside the likes of Mansell, Hunt and Hill. Not so special really.

  • If Lewis had a pram, it would be surrounded by toys.

  • Expensive ones at that.

  • At least Lewis will have something to drown his sorrows with.

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

    Too funny. :-)

I am so looking forward to the next races......and continuing to support the second-generation Grenadian.

    Signed
    Another second-generation Grenadian

  • Yet another pie in the sky bid to hold F1 in London, this time at the Olympic park. At least if it went ahead there would be one part of London that would have half decent road surfaces.

  • For that reason there would never be a GP in South London. The road surfaces there are utterly appalling.

  • Best.qualifying.session.evar!!!! Shame the race is going to be so boring!

  • Forza Ferrari? Ha.

  • Ferrari are really suffering.

    Qualifying (to 19th place):

    1 S Vettel - Red Bull
    2 L Hamilton - McLaren
    3 P Maldonado - Williams
    4 R Grosjean - Lotus
    5 K Raikkonen - Lotus
    6 N Rosberg - Mercedes
    7 K Kobayashi - Sauber
    8 N Hulkenberg - Force India
    9 J Button - McLaren
    10 P Di Resta - Force India
    11 F Alonso - Ferrari
    12 M Schumacher - Mercedes
    13 F Massa - Ferrari
    14 B Senna - Williams
    15 S Perez - Sauber
    16 H Kovalainen - Caterham
    17 D Ricciardo - Toro Rosso
    18 J Vergne - Toro Rosso
    19 M Webber - Red Bull

It should be a very interesting race, but I don't see anyone catching Vettel. Seems like Red Bull have found something yet again that the other teams haven't. I've italicised the drivers that I think will make up positions on the track, and emboldened the ones that I think might profit the most. The rest, I don't think will change that much. But it will still be nip and tuck throughout the race......except to Vettel.

    Anybody agree/disagree?

  • How the hell did Senna recover that spin!??
