  • I love the BBC coverage and I have Sky so I'm not worried either way. As a license payer though, I'm annoyed that the BBC is still prioritising shitty judging shows and almost always awful dramas over quality documentaries and sports in which British sports people are successful.

  • Hopefully they'll bump up the MotoGP coverage to make up for it, if they do, F1 can fuck off.

  • this could be a VERY interesting race!

  • It was!

  • I concur.

  • Another excellent race

  • Really good race on what is normally one of the most boring races of the season.

  • good

  • I think the comment about Montoya slipping on a chicken wing is one of the funniest things i've read.

  • ok indian grand prix run off areas, wtf, talk about confusing my eyes, it was like dazzle paint.

  • I liked them. Op art.

  • Sky F1 will not require me to pay for a sky sports subscription! Woo!

    Just had this email:

In March 2012, we're launching Sky Sports F1™ to bring you all the action like never before. We will take you under the skin of the sport with a depth of coverage previously unseen. And best of all, as a Sky HD or Sky Sports 1&2 customer, you'll receive this new, dedicated channel for free. You'll be able to enjoy:

    • All next season's races live, uninterrupted and available in HD
    • Every practise session live
    • Behind the scenes news and coverage
    • Expert Formula 1™ presentation team led by Martin Brundle

And so you don't miss any of the action, Sky Sports F1™ will also be available to watch on your laptop, mobile and iPad with Sky Go.

  • Sky F1 will not require me to pay for a sky sports subscription! Woo!

Pah! Do you want to sell one your Sky Go accounts?

  • I'm pissed off the BBC have to share the rights next year, but it's to be expected and better than nothing. What's this with Brundle then - surely he's not defecting? If so they'll only have Eddie Jordan left to go in the commentary box.

  • Sky F1 will not require me to pay for a sky sports subscription! Woo!

    Because:
    1) You're already paying through the nose
    2) It's a puppy/drug dealer tactic... give something for free now, then take it away and watch dependency kick in and you hand over the money next year

Sky's entire business model is based on driving up the amount earned per customer per year. And this is how they've done it in the past, so this is what they'll do in the future.

  • Sky Atlantic has been around almost a year, and they haven't changed the terms on it.

Everyone sees value in things differently. i don't see my sky package as a rip off, because the product has always been good. I've heard plenty of people moan about Virgin Media in the past, and as a Sports subscriber, I know sky will invest in great pundits to bring a great program.

What Sky has done in cricket has been amazingly compared to what was a waning channel 4 service.

  • That's true, I'm just pissed because I can't get Sky even if I find the value in it... no dishes allowed on this building.

Still, my monthly cost of TV is £ 0, so I get a hell of a lot of value for the amount I pay.

  • I think you can get a sky go account for very little. That would give you F1 and Eurosport for TdF if you were happy streaming. Their streaming is as good as BBC's with regards to quality.

  • And you can get sky through cable these dasys - murdochs got an answer to every problem

  • Just checked, and aside from the Sky Go web site being almost unusable, I have found out that the cheapest Sky Go minus Dish thing is £32 per month.

    I think not.

  • Eurosport streaming during the TdF is ace too. much better quality than ITV4

  • If Sky started charging any extra to watch F1, everyone would start watching it on the Beeb again.

As for Brundle, he was out of contract.
