Agreed, he was absolutely exceptional.
Well of course he was, he drove a Lotus.

If Webber wins I'll be happy for him- he seems a nice chap, a racer and he'll deserve the win.
If Alonso wins then meh, I'd rather have spent the time having a contemplative poo than watching the race.
The poo would have a more winning personality than Alonso I'm willing to wager.

^haha, spot on :)
Mick, you're right about Alonso... just don't like his smugness. Didn't like Schu either for that reason. That said, Hamilton has annoyed me this year as well. Silly mistakes.
All good sport though!! :)

Mikka wasn't an asshole...

Out of all of the negative traits you could accuse Alonso of having, lacking charisma or personality aren't two that I would think of.
I'd love to see Webber win, he really deserves it and this year might be his last chance.
Vettel will be a multiple WDC so I don't really care if he doesn't get it this year.
In terms of passion I think Alonso is miles ahead of the rest, maybe Vettel being a bit closer than the rest.

Yeah people tend not to like Alonso and Schumacher for the smugness, never an issue with Senna though. But I put that down to the rose-tinted specs.

^ TBH, i never really knew Senna days to comment.
Will buy some rose tinted specs tmw ;-)

Neither did I, hence not suffering from rose-tinted spec syndrome =P
He was everything that Schumacher was and more, almost a mentor-figure. I love how people are all up in arms when Schumacher steps out of line, but side with Senna when he told Prost before the race that if he was alongside him into the first corner, he would crash into him to take the championship. Which he then did.
If that's not rose-tinted specs I don't know what is.

At least Senna warned people what would happen if they crossed him and the other drivers either respected him or they got served. Schumacher was Mr Nice Guy until you crossed him and then he and his team were fined £50 and told to not do it again.
My point is that at least Senna told people what to expect.
Mick - I actually have a pair of rose-tinted glasses.

But surely pre-meditated cheating is worse than spur of the moment cheating caused by the red mist (not related to rose-tinted specs though being similar in colour).
There's only two ways I can see the difference of opinion between Schumacher and Senna in this country being explained. Senna is dead and/or Schumacher is German.
I will need proof of the existance of said rose-tinted glasses at the Wests 3rd birthday by the way...

Can Webber win? He fucking better.
-
• #1838
He certainly can, if he wins and Alonso finishes 3rd or worse he's got it.

• #1839
Right, where's the next one? I've got some tyres to slash..

Abu Dhabi.
Topical joke for you folk:
Apparently the residents of Dubai don't really like The Flintstones, but the people of Abu Dhabi do.

...
ed zachary.
schumacher - german, driving a FERRARI.
btw - i hope you will all tip your hats to the genius of ferrari in hockenheim, and their $100 000 world title. they are sneaky motherfuckers, but sometimes it pays off.

In the interests of cosmic justice it'd be great to see Vettel give up the win this weekend for Webber to take the championship ahead of Alonso.
-
• #1843
Vettel said that he will, it won't be frowned upon regardless of whether the Hockenhiem incident happened or not. Red Bull want a Red Bull driver to win. If the order is Vettel, Webber, Alonso he will let Webber through, most likely on the last lap. It would be silly not to.

Permutations of this final race are legion. I fancy somebody to tank it on the first lamp, maybe an accident or deliberate shunt. Alonso has the edge, as he's been here before. Vettel and Webber will be desperate to take it, for different reasons. The McLarens can have a say in who is the champion too. Excellent reason, really looking forward to how it all shakes down.

webber/vettel to collide on the last corner, and alonso to come powering through the smoke sideways to take the chequered flag and title, days of thunder style (maybe)

I can already hear Stefano on the radio "I feela da need, da needa for speed!"

I don't give a shit if that's a Top Gun quote, Days Of Thunder = Top Gun with cars.

Ha – I reckon old chinny-chin-chin might have a say too. Is he still pro-Ferrari, and wants to help Alonso? Or is he jealous of his throne there now belonging to him, so he’d scupper Alonso’s chances out of spite?
As a German, does he favour Vettel? Does he want to put a stop to anybody rivalling his number of world championships (threatened most likely by Alonso)? I wouldn’t be surprised if Schumacher conjures up a dark trick or two...

As big an Alonso fan as I am, if anyone is going to threaten Schumacher's 7 WDCs it'll be Vettel. Schumacher won't get involved at all, we've seen him this season leap out of the way of the leaders when he's been getting lapped, never getting in anyone's way when he doesn't need to.
I'm tempted to throw a few £s on him taking the WDC next year though.
Yeah, agreed, he wasn't a great driver. ;)
