I stripped an Iscaselle Tornado, looks like the Unicator, feels like shit. Will pad it back.

I think the SLR/Flite only work well stripped because of their shape, any old saddle without padding is not gonna be comfy!

the question is, are these stripped slr's actually comfortable?

Very.

there's a sweet spot which is a more towards the nose than most other saddles than I've used previously. So you set the saddle a bit further back than you would expect.
It's also for some reason much better (for me at least) with the nose pointing downwards a tad.
currently the way my SLR is set up, its very comfortable. Others will probably have differnt set ups.

they really are fred. you want to try one can lend you one as have just picked up another of my favourite saddles. storika 38 quid BNIB. been rolling on the stripped SLR for a couple of half centuries without padded shorts and they work well.

Not strictly an SLR, but I've just stripped an Flite, and was pretty surprise at how much lighter it is now, 170g, before it was about 240g.

that´s too heavy Ed! ..............(gr, not kg)

@ed, flites ti's are 180gm to start????????
@nuknow, good job, now get a stanley blade/knife and scrape the rougher edges/seams off the sides. they eat shorts.My SLR eats my shorts even with the cover on, presumably because of the flat nose these saddles have. Either that or just my mahoosive thighs.
I got bored the other week and stripped an old turbo. It was comfy, but there was a bit too much pressure down there, I realised I like a bit of padding.
