Oh, is that a whoops? I had a 'discussion' with the guy who builds them, forget his name, but he reckons there's no need for a curved seat tube because a frame built for 26" wheels will have the seat over the rear wheel enough. I gather he's alone in his thinking?

Probably depends on what tyre size you're intending to use. Maybe necessary if you want balloon tyres, but the Joust doesn't have one, and manages a 370mm chainstay length.
