Had a slight squeeky bum time moment on Box hill on the weekend, on the way down hit a speed bump pretty hard and caught air. Managed to land and brake enough to catch the hairpin, could have been worse I guess.
Felt good once it all sinked in.
Hit the rear in mid air and drift it round the corner lad!
Had my shit moment last night when a stupid ass ped ran out into the road on threadneedle st. Was probably doing around 20mph and my right hand brake lever clipped him enough to throw me off the bike coupled with a roll and bike unclipped and fell away too.
Pretty nasty road rash to both elbows somehow, one side worse but most annoyingly rips in my rapha jersey and crack in iphone. He stopped and apologised and gave me his card, bike seems fine but will give closer inspection later.
Get CCTV and contact the guy about repairing iPhone and Rapha jacket - if he denies it then take him to civil court or whatever. Rapha is not cheap enough to allow dickheads.

At Aldgate I decide to head up Dukes Place and use the segregated cycle lane, I would never normally do that but the traffic was bad so thought it was a nice little way to pass a load of the queue.. that was until a bus swung left to try and crush me... Skidded to a halt with a little space to spare and had to go back around it which was more difficult as it was at a 45 degree angle
Shithouse driver, looking very sheepish as I rode past staring

Yesterday, riding along at about 15mph, maybe a little slower and the back wheel falls out of the dropouts and the crank locks up......
more of an "oh WOW i'm a stupid shit" rather than an "oh shit" moment....Remember to check your skewers lads.

Flipped the bird at a moped-courier who was honking and shouting at me to pass a bus that was clearly pulling out into the only available space - problem being he was overtaking me at the time and my outstretched hand hit him in the helmet.
He wasn't very happy about this.

I and another mechanic from the shop here in Melbourne just had our first real effort on a tandem. It can go cocking fast, like 50kph without trying hard. We were just hooning it down a main street when a bogan (chav) in a ute (pickup) was waiting patiently to pull out from a turning until we were almost passing and then VVVRRROOOOM out he came in front of us.
"SHIT!", I screamed. Two handfuls of brake. Not much effect.
"Shit shit shit shit shit shit shit - othankgodhemissedus". -

In situations like that you just have to follow through and beat him to death.

Some fucking bellend rode out into the middle of the road in Hammersmith, without looking, from behind a shipping container. Consequently I hit him at a significant speed. Didn't have time to even slow down pedalling, let alone brake.
Me - bike fucked, light fucked, finger, neck & knee fucked and a big black eye.
Him - don't know was moaning a lot. Swore at him for a few moments and carried my bike away.
If I were a car, he'd be dead. Who the fuck does that.
Cock.

Ambulance? Police? What did you then do?

Carried my bike to Hammersmith and came to work on the tube. Moaned on a forum.
No point bothering with A or P, the guy was on a shite mountain bike and would have fucked off by the time they were there anyway - although he was moaning he wasn't that badly broken...

Kid stepped out from behind parked car chasing a ball, I didn't see the kid in time but saw the ball so pulled a bit further out and as he appeared in vision then broke hard, skipped past him on front wheel drifting toward middle of the road. Went back after collecting myself and kindly ask the kid to be more careful and explained if I hit him it would have caused serious harm. hopefully its lesson learned

Was riding fast downhill while the ground was a bit moist and as I was going into a hard corner, felt the bike lose a bit of traction (was going a bit too fast and cornering too hard), had a tiny wobble, regained control but was too late and ended up kissing a lampost/railings on that corner -- face first. People that seen me mash my face called an ambulance and the day ended with me having a nasty cut (11 stitches) between my eye and eyebrow, massive black eye + swelling, sore jaw and surprisingly, very little damage to bike (instant puncture and the lip of the rim is slightly bent at 2 parts). All in all, a shit experience but certainly made me appreciate and respect ambulance service a lot more and when I can finally see from my right eye and I get back on the road, I certainly won't be pulling hard corners like that anymore.
You should contact him, although (stereotypically) the kind of person who is around threadneedle st with a business card might well deny all knowledge the next day. There's no reason you should be out of pocket for his cock up!
