Chapeau!
Anyone know who the chap on the Brompton was? I had a brief chat with him en-route - very nice fella, who rode fixed one year wearing a kilt (he described said kilt as afterwards smelling like a dead fox).

I saw him that year, the year of the rain. I think he is on yacf.

We came across this lady right near the finish line, and despite having emmence trouble holding her head strait she was still riding at nearly 20 mph through the last part of the appalations. Pretty hard core.
...
A great deal of coverage of the RAAM this year was place on the race for first in the male solo division. Little did we know that a small Brazilian would offer one of the greatest come from behind victories in race history. Daneila chased down a strong opponent in Janet Christiansen to eventually win by a healthy margin. Daniela drew so much attention from home that a leading TV Station, TV Globo, from Brazil flew in a crew to travel and film her progress. At 11 days 17 hours and 8 minutes you are RAAM's female soloist winner. Congratulations!Amazing, races like this are a testament to both what can be archived on a bicycle and more so the power of mind over matter, because that has got to hurt.

That's The legendary Andy Gates and yes, he's mainly on YACF. He did it onna Brommie last year, too. Straight out of the box, it was. What a shakedown ride! The rest of the time, he rides a Mercian fix, down in Devon.

How exactly is getting busted for selling marijuana super cool? In fact the report suggests that she was not on a bike at the time either.

Talking of heroin, Nico, one of the coolest women of all time, died while riding her bike, which was sad.
Even though I love her music (and I mean love love love her solo stuff and velvet underground stuff) - she was a total violent racist! so therefore not cool, which is very unfortunate.

Fantastic, I felt so euphoric just watching that.

At a guess, a swim, followed by a bike ride, followed by a run. ;p

That amazing lady who passed the Coach and Horses on Sunday (we all clapped). Three kids, a dog and the shopping!
