Can anyone remember the name of the Italian woman who disguised herself as a man and took part in the Giro D'Italia in the 20s or 30s? I remember reading about her in a cycling mag a couple of years ago but can't find anything on Google. AndyP?
Hah - it was one of my childhood ambitions to disguise myself as a man and be the first woman to ride in the TdF!

Jill Homer is pretty cool. Partly because she lives in Alaska and it gets a little chilly up there, partly because she rides in the snow, a lot, including attempting the ITI.

Yep,
Great cross rider as well. Always puts on a good show at the nationals. Although Ruby Miller should be on the one to watch list as well. If she sticks with it, I reckon she'll be in the Olympics pretty soon.
Heh! I certainly do.
