  • The fox was just below my kitchen window and I was leaning out of it. They rarely come that close to the house.

  • Newest additions... Yet to teach them how to fixie ;)

  • Oh god, they're adorable. More pictures, pls.

Was never allowed to keep rodents as a child so I've always entertained this soft little dream of one day owning a couple of fancy rats. I get max squeeeee levels from them, every time.

  • There was a girl in my A-Level Art History class who always had a rat about her person somewhere.

During the final exam it relieved itself, prodigiously, whilst in the upper half of her dress.

I was writing about the constructivists, whilst observing a stain form, roughly the shape of Africa, in fresh rat-piss, that covered her entire left had side.

  • D:

    *goes off rats*

  • Not mine unfortunately.

  • Artemis (face) and Stella (butt) having a cuddle. We're moving to a bigger place and will soon be adding one more to the pig party!

  • Dog owners, perhaps you can help...

I just got back from the park, where there are lots of dogs. Great, I like dogs, and the dogs there often have neckerchiefs or woolly jumpers and this makes me smile. Most of the dog owners are responsible, saw people picking up their dog's poo and putting anxious dogs back on leads.

BUT... I saw a small dog running around off his lead, going a bit nuts, owner standing about being all "haha, he's so high spirited". So high spirited that the dog chased a little boy and knocked him to the ground. The little boy was terrified.

What can I do in this situation? Other than shout at the owner? It made me so angry.

  • Also, inform the council

  • The Korean final solution for dogs?

  • Is there that much meat on a small dog?

  • Thanks, he has some nice pics on his site. It was fox-central in the garden on Monday.

  • Great pictures Will.

We've had a fox living in our grounds for at least six months now, it recently (last couple of days) appeared after a couple of days absence with what looks to be a broken (or otherwise badly damaged) front leg.

I called the RSPCA but they said that unless I could catch Mr Fox they would not attend, as there was no way of knowing if they would turn up to no point, which I can see is reasonable - but still leaves a distressed animal running (or, rather, hopping) around.

    Anyone got a fox trap?

  • One of my/the foxes was limping very badly for a while, not putting its leg down at all when it walked. the leg looked completely limp. It's recovered now so it may not be as bad as you think. Sadly there is almost nothing you can do.

  • You can see in this photo what it was like - the front right leg.

  • What's the latest with James Dammit?

  • He's at home a lot more than he was - he was in when I got home today, followed me around until I gave him some Dreamies, then legged it.

I'd hope to see him again a little later.

So - all in all, he's around a lot more than he was, hopefully this trend will continue.

  • Glad to hear James is staying home more. Hopefully he was just escaping from the annoying kittens.

  • This. i'm still livid on your behalf with the thief though.

  • Can I ask for some positive thoughts for Mr Riley today please?
He is going in for surgery on a rare mast cell tumour in his little foot this morning......it's a 6 hour operation, but he is in good hands with our vet Helen, who has pulled in a favour from her friend, who happens to be a top animal surgeon, to assist her.
Bottom line,is that he might not be coming home, if it has spread elsewhere....if he does (hopefully), he may have one less leg than he went with, which would be ok with us :0)
He knows something is up though.
