  • A good intermediate session this morning indeed. Several strong riders. The giveaways seem to be having a greyhound skinny roadie sort of build and/or shiny calfs.
I hung around after for my race acc. and one chap there had two clues; rear disc and thighs thicker than everyone else's torsos!

  • Agree with you PolkaDot, good session, with many strong riders; too many young legs! How was the race accreditation?

  • It's simple enough, but taken and to be taken rather seriously. It's well organised and the instructions were given very clearly, but it was still a bit nerve-wracking.
The last exercise was sprints, so by then I was just enjoying it, because I love sprinting!

  • [QUOTE=youramericanlover;4205178]Inters looked like so much fun. I was pretty lucky as I ended up in the fast(er) group at the end. Good training but feel I had a lot more to give.
    QUOTE]

ha, this was the first time in ages where I wasn't the slowest/unfittest so felt pretty good about it.
I need to get this accreditation sorted so I can do Mondays. Saturday inters is too fast for me at the moment

  • the bloke carrying the trophy at the end looks so 1952 it's untrue !

    nice find

  • First trip out to Inters for me. Didn't quite feel like ^that but was super fun. Learnt some lessons and got a good feel for things. Worried that quote none of the fast people were there unquote as my legs feel a sorta fucked. Will probably be worthless for the track day tomorrow. All in all great fun though. Getting involved with track is one of the best decisions I've made recently.

  • Presumably no-one found a lone RH track mitt at any point on Saturday? :(

  • Not sure I'm even going to bother taking the mudguards off my track bike tonight, looking at tomorrows forecast

  • I still haven't done my training or race accreditation but I was really hoping to get to some sessions over half term.

Is it possible to do accreditation as part of a session, I seem to remember someone saying race training sessions could also give you accreditation. No chance of intermediates tomorrow without it?

  • Nope, you just practice/are taught the exercises in race training that are in the training/race accreditation

You can go to track skills at 12 without training accreditation though. It's basically a renamed beginners session with some extra skills stuff thrown in

  • to be honest Tom, I wouldn't even bother going to track skills. It will be super boring for you I would imagine

  • There's not another accreditation session till 14th June.

That's peak/bun dat etc. I want to train and race again. Can I just promise to do it safely?

  • I am in the same boat Tommmmmmmmmmmmm. Get booked in for the 14th!
I may do track skills tomorrow, I know it's not ideal but I'd like to have ridden the track more than once in the last 8 months before doing the accreditation.

  • No, they're pretty strict on it, which is good as the standard of idiots has dropped massively since it's come into practice. It's just a shame that there's no accreditation sessions available at the moment, you should listen to crowbar and book the 14th so that you can at least come for the rest of the summer!

  • Always listen to crowbar...

  • Crowbar just wants to show off his superior stamina again.

  • The next available race accreditation isn't till 5th July after that. Arggggh that £30 bike storage isn't looking like a great investment.

  • Know dem feels. At least you can do intermediates after the first accreditation which is better than nothing...

  • Not if you oversleep and wake up at 10.10....

  • VCL Coaches Hard at Work - YouTube

    advanced training sesh

  • I think I will do the track skills session in a bit, just to get on the track a bit more before my accreditation. Will I see any other frustrated inters there? pharoahsanders? crowbar?

  • Not today sadly, next week though - last chance to refine my skillz before accreditation.

  • Still slooow at basics >_>

  • Much rep to HoKe for the shouty advice on the track today (excerpt: "GET ON HIS WHEEL!!"), the oranges and the company. Great day for it. Will try and introduce myself next week tommmmmmm.

As it goes, does anyone have a space in the containers they aren't using? Happy to pay to swap (or does it not work like this?). I can't make it to Monday nights and therefore start racing until I have a spot for my bike at the track :( I'm on the list tho.
