A closing thought from the starter...
Una / Hussy / Steve, I never received your latest text saying you wanted to meet tomorrow (Wed - didn't you have to go to Kent on Wed?). So let's say you ran out of credit and the text never got sent...
I just had a strong feeling that you were trying to dodge the meetup and didn't want to sell the frame anymore, also judging from the fact that you mentioned twice to end the sale, plus the fact that you posted the ad here on these forums as well asking for considerably more money than what it went for.
Had you simply asked to end the sale because unsatisfied with the ending price or change of mind, I may have understood.
But your "frame scratched = not selling anymore" doesn't really stand as a valid reason, if you see what I mean.
One would normally say "frame scratched, sorry, if you still want it fine, otherwise end the sale".
This is eBay, and there are rules that make it what it is, bad or good. No one would be bidding anymore if auctions were allowed to end at random...Hopefully you'll understand there were no bad intentions in this thread other than raising awareness for what happened and trying to find some advice from expert FGSSers.

My name is UNA, stop playing games.
No I do not understand that there were no bad intentions in this thread, ofcourse there where. I was supposed to meet with go-harry to collect tape at 8pm, but could not do that either, is he posting in? No he is not. Rather you posted to muster up a good old bullying session. Nice one, it worked now I did not feel safe riding the bike after arriving back to central at 8pm after what I read in here.
-To get to Kent takes 40 mins - not all day.
-I was upset frame got damaged-panicked to get it fixed
-You propose to end it here in public domain, nice
-you commence a slanderous witch hunt - I cycle mostly on my own as does my boyfriend when he uses the bike, so are we now going to be howled at by other riders we don't know in the street?
-your exaggerating everything in this forum to your benefit in the sly statements you have gave which are misleading.
-i was in fault that I did presume no buyer would want the bike after it being scraped so badly and in panicking to get it fixed whilst being a distressing damsel in distress.
-just like how you have reacted in this forum in your hunch - difference I did not accuse you of anything
-I adverted the bike in lfgss not at set asking price £700 but for offers, of obviously lower. and that was before the sale ended on ebay so how was I to know it would end at £390 on ebay?
-you are determining all the accusations here in your explanation of poor little you
-no one made an concrete offer on the frame by the way on lfgss. and I made all aware it was on ebay, if I did not then that my usual scatty brain.
that's it. no more from me. Damed if your getting this you bully after this stunt.
i am not carrying on with this anymore. -

I met Steve (Una's boyfriend) today, he was riding the white Nag and it looked fine to me. I love those frames.

What a cluster fuck that all was.
Just got through reading it and it went from "I'm a confused buyer who doesn't know what to do" to all out slagging match and daggers.
It's not really any of our business though, so the parties involved would both benefit from stepping away from the internet and quite digging little holes for themselves.
Everyone else should let them sort it out. But on reflection closing the thread is silly, and just soft censorship... you can all say what you want but I'd prefer it if you let things be.

Proof positive that ebay no longer works. There are no sanctions anymore, just a fucking strike against your name - you need 3 before they even count. Some complete twat bought a Paddy wagon from me after asking to end the auction early for an agreed price he fucked me around for weeks and then said he didn't think it was enough of a bargain !
Sold it the next week for more, so there you go. But I guess if you don't want to be named and shamed on public forums, you probably need to do the right thing, or at least show some common sense and pay for a reserve price, you get £700 for a frame, you can afford to pay for the sale, if not, keep trying to sell it on here.
Tommaso my heart goes out to you. Hussy, you can't say you didn't ask for this to happen, try communication, it works miracles.

I contacted each bidder, warned them not to make any bids informing them of the damage. they agreed and thanked me for being honest.
Just my opinion, but would'nt it be a bit unfair on these other bidders if it ended up going for the £390. Once people had been informed not to bid the only fair outcome would be a non-sale in my eyes.
If it were me selling the frame I would contact all the bidders, and inform them of a relisting. So that all interested parties could have a fair shot. The OP should except that they did'nt win the bidding fairly (although unknowingly so).
Its none of my business though of course.
I just wish this forum contained less negativity sometimes.

Whatever happens I hope you guys resolve it OK. And I hope the frame's not too badly damaged because it's veh pretty.

Sour-grapes and Smokescreen.
By rights the frame should go to the auction winner.
He should have first refusal on purchase and consultation regarding any repairs for damage that the seller perceives are sufficiently bad as to warrant a retraction of the offer to sell.
Getting up a nice distracting cloud of righteous indignation and stating fears for safety is just ridiculous.
Nobody is going to confront anybody in the street let alone cause them physical harm. With a surge in popularity of fixed wheels and the increased user base of this web forum it was probably not a good idea to cross-offer for sale your bike on Ebay and here.
All of this could have been avoided with prompt, concise communication.

+1 I'd of just got a mate to bid £100000 for it if i didn't want the auction to go through

I have to say una/hussy, as much as you deny it i think it is clear to all that you are pissed about the price the frame sold for and in my opinion you brought this upon yourself by contacting the people who had placed a bid but not thinking about those who may place a bid last minute. That wouldn't have been an issue if you had a reserve on the auction, Tomassos low last minute bid wouldn't have won him the frame.
If the auction was past the point where ebay deem it is acceptable to edit the listing then you should have taken that as a hint and let the auction run as it was and then contacted the winning bidder with details of the damage and offered to cancel the sale and give any appropriate refund or to take a lower price for the frame at that point. Once the auction ended you would have had the option to make a 'second chance offer' to the 2nd and 3rd highest bidders (with a note about the damage) if the highest bidder had not been interested.
I think you went the route you did to try and avoid some fees from ebay and paypal and it's backfired on you.
I have had experiences like this before on ebay where the seller has contacted me right after the end of the sale and explained honestly that they messed up the listing and the item has sold for less than they want to take for it and apart from a little disappointment at not getting the bargain i thought i had i have understood and the sale has been canceled with little or no hard feelings either way.
If you don't want to sell the frame for the price Tomasso won it for there is nothing that can be done to convince you nor should there, it's you property and ebay isn't a concrete contract to sell BUT in my opinion you have have acted dishonestly and this thread should act as a warning to other users not to buy from you on eBay and i would hope Tomasso would leave you negative feedback and contact eBay to have a strike put against your account.
This thread should also act as a lesson to people that communication is a good thing and that especially where eBay is concerned you can never have too much of it.

The problem with a forum is that it is all ooohs and aaaahs.
I took Stephen's account on the forum which he set-up and never got to use whilst he built me a bike so I could learn. I have requested the account be closed. I will then set up my own account, though perhaps not if it is going to be a slanderous affair. Same goes for the ebay account, it is actually his which I use. To the users who have pm'd me supporting messages. Thanks. -
• #123
oooooooh, aaaaaaaah.

You can register the new account already Una :)
As for the deletion of the existing account, it will be done in time. It's in my calendar as a todo in a couple of weeks. I only delay so that you've got the opportunity to nuke any posts you want as deletion of user != deletion of posts. See the thread on deleting users I posted earlier today.
