  • AW10s and 12s are gorgeous. That or a Swatch Original is in my mind the perfect everyday watch. I posted my Swatch but it got slated so I guess they're not popular on here...

  • i love swatch watches and have several. my favourite is a irony and one of these designed by bruno munari

  • The prices of collectible Swatches are crazy:

    1. Oigol Oro by Mimmo Paladino This one is limited to 120 psc. and was only given away as a present to VIPs.

    2. The Puff Swatches. There are only 20 psc./each colour.

    3. Kiki Picasso. Also limited to 120 psc. and each model has different colours.

    4. Fingernails. This swatch is limited to 100 psc.

    5. Andrew Logan Jelly Fish. Limited to 50 psc.

  • Yeah I've had two Ironys, one with a dark blue face and silver hands, the other with a black face and yellow dials. My daily Swatch is a few pages back, very light silver, plain face, with a black/brown stripe painted down the straps and over the face, made to look like it was painted with a slightly dry brush. It looks filthy in the pic but mine is clean.

  • Christ they really are expensive! And I bet they still make the really loud annoying tick too

  • today i bought a NOS 1969 Omega speedmaster mark 2. pictures will follow later or tomorrow.
    i am smiling. ( :

  • well done morgasm hope it brings you have lots of fun moments wearing it.

this reminds me of my promise to put up pics of my latest find.age not known. i showed it to someone today whom i was informed knew a thing or two about watches and they said they thought it was genuine. yippee.
i think it will look alot better with a leather strap.

  • Very upsetting.

Looks like some repairs are in order... Still keeps perfect time though ;)

was this caused by an enemy bullet?

coppi thats definitely real, where did you get it??? well done!!

it's after 1937 before then breitlings said something else on the face...montbrillant, though I wouldn say much later as the number 4 is so stylised. though I think in the 50's they changed the font..so maybe late forries early fifties.

  • @wingedangel yeah i thought it was late forties early fifties. it was amongst a selection of other watches a seller of nick nacks had. he had bits of everything. bought it quite late in the morning which is why i thought that other more knowledgeable watch buyers might have spotted it.
the 'are you sitting down' price was £10.00 from spitalfields. last night i borrowed a shark skin strap from my tissot and it looks lovely i'll post a picture later.
spitalfields market is a good place to look i think. there was a seller there yesterday that had a table full of very interesting and tasty pieces.
unrelated to watches - there was a beautiful engine turned hallmarked silver dunhill pen that i didnt buy.

  • I love browsing nick nack sales,
what day is good for spitalfields browsing CT? I work on Whitechappel rd so I can drop down no probs.

  • Very, very good find.

Sadly, the Omega I bought still has a second hand that refuses to stay put. Who does the best Omega servicing? dmczone gave me the name of a place but they seemed to not want to fix it again for me. I'm looking for some other options.

Also - been meaning to post this latest acquisition - 60's era Soviet military watch from Molnija.

  • you could try somlo antiques on the burlington arcade... they are the omega specialist. probably quite pricey though.
love that soviet thing. what a beast !

  • Your new piece is "teh sex" though. Very nice to see it last night. I really dig the old Soviet watches for some reason - I'm a Cold War era kid is probably why. The face is mahoosive (43mm) and part of the charm.

Cheers for the recommendation morgasm. Will give them a bell and mention you punted me their way.

  • if its running be sure to wear it thursday, would love to see it.

  • that's a big watch right there.

  • I have a question for the experts, I have an old casio with metal case, and I wnat to put and NATO style strap, but I'm worried that the pins will brake and I will lose the watch

where, if there is any, I can get good quality pins? please.

I'm worriw because is not the first time I broke some.

  • i would try one of the dealers in clerkenwell/farringdon but i would imagine the pins would be more than fine to cope as they are. i think it will be more determined by how deep the holes are. hope that helps.

  • I'm not exactly knowledgeable about these things so when my brother said he'd bought a Sea Dweller I assumed he'd been to the fish-mongers or got a pet octopus.
I googled it. Fucking hell. Surely there are better ways to spend that sort of money?
