All are quality watches.
Contemporary.
Out of curiosity, what did your collection look like 5 years ago KC?
A bit like this

Then it grew
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v247/kingcutter/watches/COLLECTION007.jpg@pisti had a JLC Reverso I found it to small but a great watch,I think some bikes are great to look at but not nice to ride.

certainly doll face
made in mid seventies with a mechanical movement i think it was designed to appeal to drivers. the movement and numbers are flat and diplayed vertically by means of a prism.
the numbers are printed in reverse.
another from the same era and of the driving style is the jaz derby but these are chunkier, rarer and have a rotary mechanism
they both look okay with a leather strap fitted.
Amazing.

bought this yesterday. gold plated case, mechanical wind. it wasn't ticking when i got it but seems to be ticking now. i guess i will have to watch it for a day or so. there was a 9ct gold ladies peerex watch as well that i wanted a friend to buy but she wasnt inspired. (a man that buys gold for scrap bought it instead - it was only 70.00)
it had been given to a employee after 25 years service to the electricity board.

facepalm?
double facepalm, possible raised eyebrow and suppressed grimace with added head shaking.

I quite like some Nixon's but their build quality is shite, I've had 3 and not one has lasted more than 6 months.
it's not exactly the best, and some of the watches are not waterproof like the Rotolog.
used to have one, but it broke as it got a bit waterlogged, the missus got me one of those for christmas, loved it;

Beautiful watch Coppi,
Cartier started that in the 30's I think with a 'drivers' watch, same thing, it was shaped to sit on the side of your wrist so you could see the timw whilst driving, obviously for a sports car...which wouldn't have a clock to save weight.
Ps I need to return a pair of gloves to you, will pm.

i always thought it was a bit earlier than the the thirties with watches that incorporated curved glass or double hinged shoulders.
that cartier is very pretty.
The digitrend looks fantastic in black....
