I know virtually nothing about watches but this thread is really interesting. Does anyone have any advice about cheap divers? Seiko look good

Been working with the bossman and Bamford watches recently. We have three watches being released on thursday at Dover Street Market.
They are a bit crude but obviously unique and quite a bit of an investment!

We have Rolex in our Windsor store and bossman wears a Deepsea . Am sorry tho pooface dont like that at all . Can think of better ways to spend 30k .
How do you justify circa 22k over the " stock " one ? -
• #8264
It looks wank
-
• #8265
Its 'Art' innit!
30k is cheap for the price that my boss normally sells his art for and this piece you can wear!
-
• #8266
The sort of person that'd buy and wear that would wear a dogturd on their wrist if you told them it was 'art'
-
• #8267
art
-

Calling something " art " is one way of saying to people if they dont like it its because they are too thick to " understand " it !
-
• #8269
Pretty sure you got that from Camden Market for a fiver.

Shoulda fuckin left it there...

So true! Just the sort of bullshit I got fed up with at art school. Too many navels gazed at, too many chins stroked.

Might be of interest: How to photograph a watch
http://feedly.com/k/11NYY7pThe strap reflections look awful. You should light and shoot for the face, bezel and strap with separate shots and then comp them afterwards...
Those ads you see in magazines of watches (or any product ad) are made up of loads of photos, all lit for different bits.
Some good lighting advice in the video though!retouchingthread >>>>>>>>

^ Good solid watch, can't go far wrong, but be warned once you start getting into watches and collecting it can become somewhat er, addictive...

Personally I think the trend for very large watches is overrated, it is just fashion. My Armida A1 was humungous, so much so that it looked a bit silly so I moved it on, and I'm large build with big hands and wrists.
I actually prefer the slightly smaller scale of retro / vintage watches in fact I have a beautiful ETA Squale from the 70s that these days would potentially be classified as a woman's watch due to its size but it wears really nicely and is quite unique.
