So advice needed. For my birthday my father in law bought me a watch - an Armarni AR1605. The thought is lovely, but it's not a watch that suits me. I've got laydee wrists.
It's untouched, unopened with authentication. I'm not sure where he bought it, but it's likely to be duty free.
I can't see any NOS sales on ebay. So; do I bite the bullet and say I'd like to exchange it, or explain that I'll resell and buy something that I will wear.
tl;dr - anyone want a watch, FiL not included?

Always loved the vintage look of Armani watches.
Why not keep it in the family and let the wife wear it?

Chris - a similar thing happened to me at Christmas with a watch my mum gave me. I decided to bite the bullet and ask her if she minded if I exchanged it for something that would be more suitable. I felt mean but it meant that I'd knocked out any awkward questions down the line like "How are you getting on with your new watch?"

Two sensible heads saying two different things; thank you.
I'll think on it.

Looks like it would be alright on lady (I call mine "artistic"*) wrists. I had an old Mappin & Webb a few years back, similar style suited me fine.

*I was once informed that smaller wrists were an indicator of creativity. I can live with that.

Hey!! Chunky wrists can have some flare too you know.

Chunky wrists mean you're either a boxer or you wank a lot.
You don't look like much of a pugilist.

You're not too bad yourself.

On the subject of custom starps, just received a couple of made-to-measure G10 starps from this guy:
http://www.vintagewatchstraps.com/NATOG10.php
One is a 16mm for a Timor ATP, and an 18mm for my Hamilton G.S.
They look really nice. Here's a picture of one from the website with an Omega WWW fitted:

Looks good. No 31trum strap though.

Yeah, I did consider going to 31trum, but couldn't see any NATO types available.

Anyone want this?
Bought on ebay for £5. So I'd like that back. All good, just a little bigger than I expected*, so I'll never wear it. Let me know.
*glass face is 35mm

Casio G Shock stupidly cheap on Amazon at the moment;
Casio Gents Watch G-Shock GW-6900A-9ER: Amazon.co.uk: Watches
They retail for £160. Have said for a while I'd like a digital solar watch but just not 100% sure on the yellow.

Brass innit?
Reminds me of a "brassed" Leica- They were painted black and the black paint wears off eventually in places showing the brass beneath:

Kinda reminds me of one of my fave watches...
