Anyone had any experience with Tauchmeister watches?

My current collection:
I really, really want a Ulysse Nardin -- but that would mean having to stay in a cardboard box for 6 months.

I've been on a perpetual semi-hunt for an automatic watch with a day date, that is silver in colour and has or can have a black leather strap. Other things on the wish list are; not too many £s, and from a name that will hopefully last and retain some value.
I've been lusting after a couple of Jaeger LeCoulture's at the moment, the Master Ultra Thin Jubilee:
and the Master Réserve de Marche:
Anyway in the real world, I spotted this "Club" on ebay.
From what I have briefly read it was sold more as an everyday watch. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on it?
Cheers.

is that club worth pulling the trigger on? what should I offer?
-
• #7808
you both fighting over the Club?! this could be interesting.

Hey, that was my question!
From searching around he's already auctioned and "sold" it for much less (£475). I wonder if the original buyer pulled out, or it just didn't go for enough so he shill bidded.
Either way it makes me think you've got to go for an offer.
The thing I was trying to work out is how much it's really worth / is it a longer term model as from my brief read the clubs were meant to be a bit of a fashiony model... and this looks like quite plain.

What do people think of this piece of metal? Had a play with one in Alsal today. If there is a watch that I would never buy, it is this one.
£3,500 just in case you are wondering.

Automatic digital watch. Meh, I'd rather have one or the other, neat idea though. I'd buy one if I had money to spare

I wasn't expecting it to be as comfortable as it was given the profile...

I prefer their first automatic/digital from about 10 years ago.
Ventura Sparc FX
Came with a see thru back and hefty price tag.

I had a really close look at one of these in Alsal today too.
I'm really quite fond of it. It has a ETA 2893-2 (top) inside and feels really crisp. I'm not convinced of the rounded gnurls on the bezel but I have to say that this watch made my pee-pee tingle. It looks far better in the flesh. One of the nicest sub £2,000 watches that I've handled.
Tacky submariner/GMT hybrid or high quality homage?

I think if I have a diver I've decide I want the orange bezel omega jobbie
-
• #7818
Alsal do it in other colours to order but fair point, I do like the Omega you are talking about.
-
• #7819
Tacky GMT imho. I agree that the bezel knurls look a bit too overdone.
