Just got one. It's on its way from Japan.
Was thinking it as a gift for my brother who teaches music, but quite like it!

while I am still undecided which Seiko dressy but rugged to buy, I may buy an interim itch scratch sports watch, for cycle, run, swim, bombing around over the summer. G shock I expect, but so many confusing options. Considerations - clarity, comfort, not too complicated, ideally solar, ideally HRM. Slim wrists, so not really huge, and I slightly prefer round shape, but this is not crucial. Am not too price critical, just like good value, happy to buy new or second hand here if someone has something suitable.

Depends on the module, the newer updated ones (M5610U) can, the older ones with the EL (blue) backlight can't. Bluetooth-enabled ones also can.

Love all of these but GS has gone beyond my budget. Though to be fair most Seiko's have done the same these days

Yeah, they're great. The titanium version is a bit of a classic. Just wish they had nicer clasps.

Sure, Watchway https://www.watchway.co.uk/product-page/g-shock-band-10323536
Or Tiktox, P&P inc. https://www.tiktox.com/product-page/10323536
10323536 is discontinued and replaced by 10627149 but the nice man at Watchway thinks it's the same.

Not usually that into microbrands but after trying one of these on earlier this month, I ended up ordering one cause the owner of the brand gave me an almost 20% discount and I just liked it. After ordering an SKX013, I was disappointed with how it wore - tiny dial, very tall while being very short and it was just a bit of a hockey puck. This on the other hand has a really nice turn down on the lugs, is hyper legible and has the best bezel action and the best bracelet I've ever worn - which for its price point is impressive. Living with a bracelet in Southern California is really difficult due to wrist swelling, but this micro-adjust system makes it totally doable.

Not. Bad.
Might rip that Bezel off.
Seeing as they ripped Tudor.
Pretty much a Seiko / Pelagos love child.

yeah I think when I first posted it I said something like 'its quite derivative of a few other dive watches but is still enough its own thing for it to be okay' and I still stand by that. Obviously the dial gradient and green text is literally taken straight from a Sea Dweller Deepsea, hands are very Seiko, hour markers very Pelagos... but seeing as its not really competing with a Deepsea or Pelagos, its fine imo.
