  • Nice. Looks like potentially the best Tudor release in a very very long time.

Wonder if there'll be a blue option or if they want to keep that for the FXD with the MN association.

  • I still haven't managed to try on the night birch - now I might have a decision to make...

  • WoS near me have a night birch (as well as the new GMTs), will try this week sometime.

  • Looks like the dial maybe dishes upwards rather than using a conventional rehaut/chapter ring? Nice touch if so. (Edit: no, it doesn’t.) Like the solid ceramic/lume markers too.

  • No 39mm LHD as far as I can tell?

  • Damn, that's epic. Gonna start saving straight away.

  • Thankfully! I'll stick with my chonky boi LHD!

  • oooo that is a substantial diet from the original (14.3mm)

will have to see what it's like irl. does the bezel look a bit squashed? idk

  • Small detail that I never noticed is that on the new range of Tudor 36mm, 39mm in two tone etc (not the full steel 36mm) black bays, Tudor have changed the second hand to a lollipop style, I'm guessing to sit with the markers better?? Now you have a mixture of lollipop, pencil and snowflake, which I initially thought may be weird but I guess its like the Tudor equivalent of the Rolex Explorer hands setup.

They've added the new clasp as well but it looks wayyy too bulky for more of a sports/dress watch option. If they did the black coated markers on the steel 36mm like on the Explorer 2, I'm pretty sure I'd buy one.

Edit: They've also pulled the crown in so it looks like its actually mates with the case as well.

  • Haaa, substantial diet, love it. I'm a fan of sunray dials so this has definitely peak my interest along with the smaller size etc. I do really like the DNA and marker style of the original though, with the added white surround, it gives more weight to the dial, more tool watch.

The cutting on the bezel and the crown seems more chunky than the 42mm.

Will be interesting to see the finish in person.

  • Yeah, I'm only in town once, maybe twice a week and am usually in back to back meetings. Will make it my mission, probably next week, to seek both out.

For the price though, the Pelagos might be an instant buy anyway.

  • Another "Pelagos" that moves the goal posts!
Needs gated chapter ring, 500m depth rating and a helium escape valve, to be a Pelagos (IMO) otherwise why not make it yet another Black Bay?
(I answered my own question there)

(Also, I have an OG Pelagos and I wear it when I wash my hands, closest it is going to get to 500m underwater)

  • Fit looks good, not sure on the bezel.

  • Anyone keen on a Sinn U50? 2 months old, mint condition. It’s the most expensive, fully tegimented version. I got it for a friend, but he’s got a EZM3F as well as EZM1 and won’t keep it. Bargain at £1950 posted (about £500 below retail and no waiting time), let me know if you want his number :-)

  • It’s a buy from me 😎

  • Yeah that bezel is a bit unusual versus the 'full size'. But otherwise, what a cracker.

  • North of £200, better than a MoonSwatch that’s for sure.

  • Not a bad effort at all, I like it.

  • "In proud partnership with one of the world's most iconic
global airlines, the Timex x Pan Am® Waterbury
celebrates the industry leader's rich heritage of aviation."

Er... shouldn't that be Pan Am Railways?

  • Not all, still that horrible hour hand imo.

  • If that's the angle, it should be CSX Transportation at this point.

But I'm pretty sure it's only meant to refer to the hay day of the Pan Am Airways itself.

  • Needs gated chapter ring, 500m depth rating and a helium escape valve, to be a Pelagos (IMO) otherwise why not make it yet another Black Bay?

Black Bay is clearly vintage-leaning, this is their “modern” dive watch line. Although it lacks some of the tech of the OG Pelagos, just being titanium is a massive difference.

I think it’s so good I could even look past the Arial on the dial. Maybe.
