What time is it? Watches and horology

At @Pifko’s request, the lairiest watch I own. Bi metal Accurist from the 90s - my 18th birthday present from my dad. It had a party trick of its hands manically spinning around whenever you changed the function which killed in school.

I got the same watch for my 18th. Sadly it's not worked for the past ten years and I haven't been able to get it fixed.

That is very special . I had a reissue with a white face that I really should have kept. But yours looks an original 1960’s version

Love that you got one for your 18th as well! Nothing says "welcome to adulthood" like a watch with spinny hands. Mine ran out of steam a decade or two ago and has been gathering dust in drawers ever since but I've never been able to throw it away. Was wondering this morning if i should try and get it fixed (think it needs more than a battery replacement as the pushers don't click anymore) but I think you've answered that question :(

About 25 years I guess , it used to be my everyday watch , hence the sun faded bezel… I wear it less now .. shame really

I was told the best option would be to look out for a replacement movement but obviously they are many years out of stock.
