So another of my recent purchases has come back from service and I think this is definitely a keeper .
1968 Omega chronostop cal 865 .
Case refinished as new ( as never polished before ) but dial and hands left original as no damage/flaking .
Am inordinately pleased with it.
( and the 865 is a simplified 861 movement so there is a moonwatch connection)

Nice those and a useful function with the timer . I had a driver version years ago , which had the face rotated 90 degrees.

I initially looked for a driver one , but chose this because it was a dial colour I hadn't seen before.

In seriousness though, check the black DLC Santos models out. There was a guy I used to work with who wore a previous-gen one in ~39/40mm and it really worked. And it kind of flew under the radar more than you’d think.
