Also, the strap has come off on one side, and the pin seems to be broken, plus the winder feels a little bit too precariously attached...
You can buy spare strap bars on eBay for next to nothing. Just get the right size by measuring the gap.
The winder is held in place by a small screw underneath the case back. This needs to be adjusted correctly, so most likely it'll just need to be tightened slightly.
I've not used any London repairers, but you shouldn't be paying much at all to have this done. I'd consider having a fresh gasket / seal fitted on the case back to aid waterproofing.

I've emailed it to my pal and he's VERY interested.
What's the width of it?
-
• #5862
It's not massive, the above photo is with a fisheye so bare that in mind
I've had a number of people pm me already, maybe I should have asked for more....
Whoever buys this needs to promise to look after it. It's almost 70 years old and needs to be cherished

Hi chaps, I'm looking for some help. I've had my Rolex Oyster Date for 12 years (bought new) and it's never been serviced. An over the last couple of days, it has lost a few hours each day. Any recommendations on where I could get it serviced for a sensible price? Or is it a take it back to the shop, for them to send it back to Rolex? Any idea how much they're going to charge me?
-
• #5873
TBH, if the watch is worth a fair few quid its worth getting done by a Rolex authorised service centre.
-
• #5874
Rolex have a service charge of around £300-400.
That may seem a little steep, but it does go back to Rolex and they do replace anything that's deteriorated or worn out.
I thought it was a bit on the toppy side, but then if you buy a precision instrument then you have to pay the servicing costs.
Buy a Porsche pay Porsche money. Simples.

........... or somebody that used work there ;-)
mancub - that's a beautiful watch and you should definitely wear it even if you decide it's only for special occasions - get it on your wrist. The Seamaster is one of several iconic ranges that Omega have developed over the years - including the Speedmaster and Constellation.
I've just had my 1964 Omega Constellation serviced by a chap called Chris Heal who has been trained by Omega themselves and has incredible experience in watch making and mending:
