Vintage really.
Tbh I'm thinking I might be best leaving it for next year as its a bigger birthday... and We haven't really been together that long. It seems like going up to +£500 gives you much more choice.
I'd love something like this :

It's just tough trying to work out ideas for presents :(

Word up. I've got a silver watch with a circular red face (analogue), would whack a picture up but it's being repaired. Anyway, it's got a silver link strap that I'm getting rid of...it's hideous and not comfortable.
A black strap would work, right?
I was thinking the last but one on the end of this site - http://www.watchworx.co.uk/pages/lwb/diverPop/TSS%20Marine.htm
Waddya' think? Black strap, silver watch, red face?

I really want one of those in the heading aid beige/grey colour they do. Looks to me like a prop from 2001: A Space Oddessey or something.

Yeah, that's more like it. Also get a similar vibe from:
Looks like it could be a prop from a cheap sci-fi movie.

This is my late grandad's Omega Seamaster. I inherited it when I was about 8 and I've never felt of age or deserving to wear it until now, maybe. I don't know much about them so any schooling for a novice like me would be welcome!?
Also, the strap has come off on one side, and the pin seems to be broken, plus the winder feels a little bit too precariously attached...
Does anyone know of a trusted place I can take it to get looked at? I'm a bit wary as a jeweler tried to nick an opal from my grandmother's ring once.

^ photobucket.com for the link dude. Would love to see it, am a fan of old Omegas. Had a 1964 Constellation come back after a service today, happy to pass on some advice. But pics first! :)

That's lovely, with the 'beads of rice' bracelet.
It should definitely be serviced and worn.
Some advice sort.
I'm thinking about getting my girlfriend a watch for her birthday. Budget would be sub £200.
Ideally it would be gold coloured and dainty and very classic. I'm finding it hard to source any images of what I'm after.
Something sort of along these lines in terms of style:

She has a watch with a black leather strap for daily use.
Does anyone have any hints or tips? Also any suggestions on real shops in London I could go and have a look?
Additionally I know it's probably a faux pas, but I'm not sure she'll be up for winding it.
Cheers.
