  • Bought all of my watches online. Do pay a bit of attention to L2L but that’s about it.

  • The Zenith is a more interesting watch but then I would say that having owned the blue version.

  • I absolutely love that!

  • Congrats!

Nice watches, the Zenith is more my thing personally, looks very classy indeed.

  • The Zenith gets my vote..

Edit to add.. that ring is a banger!

  • @ChainBreaker Thanks! Will do a side by side but out at the moment.

@Howard Oh right! I think the finishing is excellent. Any particular reason you moved it on?

@Stonehedge Well thanks very much! My wife refers to it as 'The Medallion"

@Regal Thanks man! I thought youd say that:) It's an amazing piece, the details and the balance are top notch. The dial is a sort of smoked grey to black which really adds depth.

  • Any particular reason you moved it on?

Actually haven’t moved it on - just been ages since I wore it last. Not planning on shifting it and yes the finishing is lovely. The case back is something else.

  • I am loving the sbdy109 seiko. But I am holding out for a slightly thinner spring drive diver

  • The English Riviera. 😎

  • That's a chunk isn't it. Yours?

  • Very nice. Loving that dial, its kind of smoke.

  • Zenith for me.

It suits your wrist and IMHO it has more longevity than the Tudor will.

  • The Zenith is so much nicer imo

  • Everyone with the Zenith, I’d say Tudor personally, because I never wear dressy pieces. Having said that - I do appreciate how classy the Zenith is, so if that’s your thing…

  • Love the ring ,?where from?

  • @JB i find it interesting that those AnOrdains haven’t sold out yet, other than the salmon. They put 14 of each colour into a NYC pop up so Windup only have 36 of each to sell online. Slightly surprised they haven’t gone since 1) AnOrdain are completely sold out of normal Model 1s right now and 2) I think the price point is really decent (works out about £300 less than an enamel one).

I wonder if people just aren’t interested in a non-enamel AnOrdain, or if the US market isn’t into the brand (though with the Scottish origin and a few positive Hoodwinkee write ups under their belt I’d have thought enough people would be).

  • Seiko Sunday btw

  • Surprised also. Think it’s a few things: no enamel; it’s summer - people want fun watches they can take to the beach and these are pretty dressy; quite formal and not many people are wearing suits; not much press for anOrdain over here.

  • @Howard Oh I see, time for a bit of sunlight on that dial surely?

@Sumo Yeah its mine. A bit of chunk for sure. Definitely has a strong wrist presence and the weigh between the two is a big difference but I think they've done well with the case height adjustment and its definitely wears smaller than the stated specs suggest. The Zenith is exactly that and that's how I would describe it. I have a bit of a weakness for well executed sunburst dials.

@hurricane_run Thank you! I thought it was time to go a bit wild with the wedding rollercoaster I've been on.

@hugo7 True, the Tudor is pushing my wrist limit.

@jv Thank very much:) I got it custom made. Went and picked the two blue sapphires from a gem fair in Hatton Garden, from Queensland Australia. They did not have an orange one there as they are fairly rare and expensive and most times will be heated to achieve a vivid orange like that, so that was sourced by the jeweller. The others are not treated or heated.

Edit: Re-read this and thought that the bit about the orange sapphire made me sound like a stuck up wanker (open for debate 😂). I just decided on these colours before trying to source the stones and learned in the process that orange sapphires are rare in this colour, especially when not heated or treated. I'll pipe down now 👍🏻

  • Don't lose your ring! I've lost two wedding rings and a friend lost his diving on his honeymoon.

  • I like that I can dress the Tudor up and down with the bracelet or other straps, also the fact that it is clearly very sport based both looks wise and movement wise compared to the Zenith. The colour will also go with all of the clothing hues I tend to wear.

  • Shit! Sorry to hear that! You've just reminded me that I should get it insured. Do most banks cover loss? The fit is slightly odd because I'm fairly slim. The joints on my fingers tend to be slightly wider than the rest, so it just fits over the joint but is then slightly loose as the rest of my finger is slimmer. Not much I can do about that though!

  • time for a bit of sunlight on that dial surely?

Yes I think so. Been doing quite a lot of DIY, up and down scaffolds and toddler parenting -that probably has something to do with it not getting much sunlight too!

  • Very nice ring, and congratulations!

    Would you share the maker?
Always interested in people that make fun jewellery (ok, my other half is, and we maybe should get rings too...).
