  • Still my fav. Love the vibe and not having a couple of G on the wrist to worry about

  • Oof, that is a beaut

  • I do love a mark 2 . Best watch of the day.
After the two tritium moonwatches obviously........

  • I do feel lucky to have snagged it. It gets wrist time against some strong competition.

  • I've never had the feels for a mk1. Maybe one day I'll see one that turns my head like this one did.

  • Nice, I dig a racing dial Speedy.

  • It's a fabulous watch , I've got a 1971 model myself . Really underrated , and usually much cheaper than a moonwatch of similar age .

  • I do have freddo's great taste to thank as well. The face and colour fades are lovely. It's well worn but it gets a lot of love from people who notice it.

I suppose if you start out looking for a moonwatch you probably wouldn't be bold enough to buy a MK2 first.

  • I ended up on the fence about the super sea wolf up thread but it had me looking twice.

  • Just dropped it off at the post office. Didn't love it enough to keep something that superfluous.

  • That was quick !

  • 26 hours 😂 was always hit and miss as to whether it'd stay.

  • Really underrated , and usually much cheaper than a moonwatch of similar age .

Why is the modern racing speedy sooooo much more than the modern moon watch?

  • Nice to see one of those up close if only for a day, great colour scheme. The bezel fleck also reminds me of the Nike ACG stuff from a few years ago.

  • Yeah, same. Initially why I liked it. I think at the price point, the super sea wolf is a really good deal, if you dig the aesthetics. I would like a more casual looking one as an every day watch. But I wear a watch so infrequently nowadays that there's just no point.

  • I have a couple of colourful watches but like you say, you have to dress in plain t and shorts to offset it. Fine for a bit of summer but not as an everyday choice.

  • Isn’t it the auto movement? And priced similarly to the auto Speedmasters?

I once saw a vintage mk2 next to the modern one and the vintage was so much nicer.

  • I had a modern mark 2 as well for a while , but it was much more cumbersome than the vintage .

  • Anyone got suggestions for fitted/curved ended rubber straps to fit a Seamaster (300m)? Like those crafter ones but they only seem to do Tudor & Seiko.

The clasp on my bracelet needs fixing so would like to try the watch out on rubber.

  • From what I've seen the problem with vintage models is originality. So many have been polished or hands/dial changed.

  • The manual wind on the vintage is lovely too. Makes me question the need for automatic watches whenever I wind it.

  • Awesome!! Saw this in a shop window yesterday (shitty photo...) and they look so nice! Really like the cases
