My guess is that it was someone’s (who works in a angle grinder store or similar) daily beater on a different strap for two years!

Try to get more discount and maybe polish out a bit? These don’t look deep at all. Cod cloth for the polished bits could work.

Seconded on the B&R being a looker. You’d have to be so cack handed to end up damaging it like that accidentally. Or pissed.

On the bright side, if you keep it, at least you won’t be worrying about seeing ‘that first scratch’.
