Is that a B&R V2-94 coastguard? Not the one that was on sale the other day that we were discussing?
-
• #54653
Yea. I was intrigued.
Now I’m like ‘ah yeah this is why you don’t buy shit in sales’

WTF. It wasn’t even marked as B-stock (“shagged” would have been more accurate). Scammers.

I mean, it’s quite nice, but I’ve had watches that I’ve owned for years that have picked up fewer dings

That's one of the nicer B&Rs I've seen. I quite like it. Fuckers for saying it's new though! I've got watches that I've owned for 10 years with fewer scratches than that!

Lovely. But damnnnn... Wtf have they done to it! 😂

Not my cup of tea (or budget - 43kCHF). Like the cars, though.

Edit: think it’s actually pretty old, but Singer just reposted: https://www.instagram.com/p/COQG6wRhRdf/?igshid=7t9w3sxh9okw

My guess is that it was someone’s (who works in a angle grinder store or similar) daily beater on a different strap for two years!

Try to get more discount and maybe polish out a bit? These don’t look deep at all. Cod cloth for the polished bits could work.
If not, return immediately 😬 -

Seconded on the B&R being a looker. You’d have to be so cack handed to end up damaging it like that accidentally. Or pissed.
On the bright side, if you keep it, at least you won’t be worrying about seeing ‘that first scratch’.
I’d be tempted to get to the bottom of how it turned up in that state when sold as new, then as has been suggested go down the road of taking a partial refund because (if) you like it.

Yeah. Was thinking that. But how much and who in their right mind buys a used B&R?
-
• #54663
I would. £20 for you judging by the state of it

• #54664
Jeeps such weird scratches too 🧐 dog/toddler/ poltergeist
-
• #54665
Ah man, gutted for you.
-
• #54666
It's no worry, will just return it. Wouldn't die in a ditch for it, just wondered if it would scratch (geddit) my itch for a small vintage two dial chrono whilst not breaking the bank but being quite nice.
-
• #54667
That is just total overkill for the sake of it .
Totally pointless. -
• #54668
Agreed. It’s nasty IMO.

Preorder price on the green Aquastar Deepstar is similar money, just saying…

To indicate that the mechanism is running
Like the seconds on a normal watch
The 2020 Aquastar Deepstar is a faithful recreation of one of the most influential dive watches of the 60s. The unique and uncluttered mono sub counter dial, combined with the small running indicator, and the patented multiple dive decompression bezel table make the Deepstar an unmatched diver-oriented tool with an instantly recognizable design

I don't like Willards when I see them on a shelf/ render, but I like them when I see them on wrist.
V Nice.

More Magrette love. Lazy start this morning, will put on smart watch later for leaving the house (and hopefully the UK).
