  • Quite like that, reminds me of the pavé sections of the Paris-Roubaix.

  • Barton rubber strap. Too sporty?

  • Not at all. Looks great.

Would look better with curved ends to the band though...

  • That’s right. This watch has oddly placed lug holes. Very low towards the bottom of the case.

  • The new Certina is pretty nice.

  • I lost a little screw out of my Smiths Everest bracelet.. are these a standard item that I could find elsewhere or specific to timefactors? Also can I threadlok or similar to prevent it happening again?

  • I like the bezel - less-so the strap which looks like it has come off an Argos Tickerz kids watch.

  • Potentially silly question. I've been looking at Grand Seikos (spring drive and/or GMT models) on C24 and I'm seeing a few watches coming from Japan for a cheaper price. Is there a catch? (except from import duties I guess).

This for instance. Sure you need to add shipping, and there are a few scratches on the case, but they're minimal and I'm sure I'd add more in short order anyway.

  • The Helson arrived today, no additional charges levied.
Early opinions are: its not as big as I thought it would be (height-wise), heavier than I was expecting, strap is quite nice but might look at a NATO, solid clicks from the bezel, green sunray face is quite light.
    I'll save pics for Friday.
    Overall, I really like it.

  • It’s the tax. Those prices are excluding sales tax. You will be charged import tax / duty when it arrives.

Watches of Mayfair usually seem to have the best grey market prices on new GS in the UK. Official GS boutiques won’t give you a discount. Seiko ADs (there’s one in the Bluewater shopping centre that deals in GS) might.

  • I got the additional charges through a few days after I received the watch.

  • I am all over this when it launches.

  • Jura watches will price match watches of Mayfair and offer interest free credit (if that’s your bag...). Official stockists too.

  • i'll keep that in mind.
Should only be £20 plus whatever Fedex decide to whack on top

  • Yes. There is a school of thought that you don't actually have to pay Fedex as they are contracted to the supplier rather than the customer but I couldn't be arsed going down that rabbit hole.

  • Probably one of the most well balanced designs I've seen for a long time.

  • I do like an internal bezel. I have vague plans of getting one of these at some point:

  • I see. Thanks for the advice!

  • That is very good to know. I've always wondered how important having bought from an AD is with things like Spring Drive servicing. Would certainly favour Jura if they price match.

  • Not sure on servicing but it can't hurt...

For my snowflake, they beat the watches of mayfair price by 10% of the difference.

  • You and me both

  • Seiko SPB143 is so cool.

  • I like that a lot, when is the release?

  • Did you buy this complete or manage to get the strap and bezel aftermarket?

  • That looks great! Disagree with @Soul, the wee gap makes it more casual, less OCD
