Reminds me of this beefy boi...

I'm not really sure what the point of it is.
It's like a cross between the SBGH255 and SBGA229, but more expensive and not as nice.
The dial and the hi-beat movement set the SBGH255 apart, while the case shape, dimensions. and date window are nicer on the SBGA229.
A more interesting place for GS to go would be a 40mm case size with no date (though of course they would be accused of ripping off the Sub).

Yeah... after I posted it I realised the same thing...

For rubber dive straps I'm really liking the Zulu diver ones from watch gecko.
I love the orange one which is properly vivid, hard to take photo, their nylon are super nice too.
I’m waiting for the leather strap with the blue and red stitch to be in stock again.

Yeah this is a solid reissue. No photos of the green Aqua Terra, brutal.

Whenever I see these massive Seiko watches I think "they must look well silly on little Japanese dudes"

Seiko definitely entering douchey territory with those rather overpriced oversized divers... I hope that Citizen and Orient don't attempt a similar move "upmarket"..

I only got some truly terrible pics, soz.

Yeah, 100% that. The weirdest thing is doubling down on the date at four by moving the power gauge to be directly opposite. It’s... not right.

Mmm, may just be the image but looks all a bit shiny, shiny. I love more shine and sunburst on something like a datejust but this looks close to the Alpinist green and glitz. The black just at the back does have a gloss look but is not so reflective...hmm.

Have you seen a current Aqua Terra in the metal? They are really quite shiny. Not like they used to be. The hands and markers have that type of machined finish with very fine grooves that create rainbow reflections. They don’t glitter like a Rolex dial, they just shine.
The bracelet centre links are also polished (again, unlike the old ones).
I do like the black 38mm, but I prefer the O.G. 39mm AT design by some way.

I love the look of that but I've never understood leather straps on watches that can go into water. Surely its a bit counter-intuitive?

Can anyone put their hand up who’s a regular James Cameron on this watch thread?

Nobody on here go diving with a diver.
Occasionally they may partake in the splashing of a bath, or with sheer trepidation, accidentally swam at the beach.

We have Casio for this kind of shit.

Actually no. My divers all go in the surf as only 200m + watches survive. My Seiko samurai went scuba diving, as did my old skx007.
Have to admit, the G-Shock is the best for water sports though. Big heavy steel divers are no good catching waves.

He's not really diving though. He's in a submarine. Go fucking yell at the non-submariners wearing submariners.
Have we had this?
SLGA001. 5 day power. Spring Drive. $11,000. Sure is tasty. Big boy though at Diameter: 46.9mm, Thickness: 16.0mm. Not sure on the date though...
