  • Pretty sure that although the Omega are still ETA 2893-2, they've been modified to be proper GMTs. I think there's a smaller diver that is now discontinued.

  • Halios Seaforth GMT.
    Monta Skyquest.

  • Doxa GMT.

  • Bell and Ross - bit spendy

  • It's just a shame. If Christopher Ward sorted that stupid logo I'd be all over that shit.

  • The MontBlanc Heritage GMT looks nice

  • It does, but after watching Horology House's video on it, I was put off. Admittedly it's under macro, but the finishing on the hands and dial was actually pretty poor. If I'm spending that much, it's not great.

  • Buy one and have the logo painted over.

  • It does look and feel a bit cheap IRL.

  • Have instead just decided to enable the second timezone function on my Aerospace (duh) and will look into something that's not GMT. Nothing decent and affordable IMO.

  • Seiko need to get involved (at below GS level).

  • I've got to say that I'm very happy with my Speedbird GMT but when I first started looking into GMT watches I was surprised that everything ranging from £500 to £3k seemed to use the same movement. Made it very difficult to justify the pricey end of the scale.

  • Thought the hive might be able to help on this.

I'm going to have my skx013 upgraded with a NH36. Basically it's running way out of time and demagnetizing hasn't worked long term.

Regulating or servicing the watch is about half the cost of a new hacking / winding movement.

My question is about the hands.

As they come off anyway, changing them is free. I'd quite like a orange minute hand and although I think the polished silver hands work now it's on a bracelet, I didn't like them on black straps.

Any thoughts on hand options? I'd like to keep an OEM look and feel.

Two wrists are me, orange is probably spot on, but open to options.

  • I like an orange minute hand a lot on a diver, it’s one of my favourite things about my Squale 50 Atmos. Think it suits the 013 too, it plays nicely with the orange dial text.

  • The other Squale hands are white. Do you think polished silver would work the same way?

Another thought is to go for sword(?) hands like on your Squale. I feel the Omega(?) dagger ones are too chunky for the face size once you factor in the round hour markers.

  • I’d go white for the other hands personally. The 013 has white markings so it’ll suit. No rules though! I saw a SKX007 modded with Seamaster 300M style hands and bezel and thought it looked great.

  • Yes to orange, gives the dial a good pop. I prefer swords to arrows but each to their own. No view on the white/silver decision - i quite like a silver hand catching the light, but the white would tie in better - buyer's preference :)

  • Who’s at T4AP tonight? @inchpincher? @Regal? @ChainBreaker?

  • Regal and I are, eta 8pm though.

  • Cheers all

  • Saw this modded Seiko. Thought it was cool, probably a bit OTT.

  • Yachtmaster-Milgauss mod is a new one to me. Powerful.

  • I'd like that if it wasn't for the milgauss hand.

I wish I could love the milgauss... But I've come to the conclusion I cant.
