In the interests of injecting some more variety, and in the spirit of the "rat bike, beater, frankenbike" thread, here are some of mine:
The first (M-watch by Mondaine) is my all round quartz beater. Just keeps going through mud, water, oil, anything. I've had it 7 years and only replaced the bracelet once, the crystal twice, and the battery three times! It keeps time nearly as well as the Junghans below.
The second is my old Seiko (my first quartz, from 1982) which is now something of a frankenwatch. The crystal and retainer are not original or correct (and they look ghastly). No longer in running order, alas.
Third is my ceramic Junghans solar. It's nice to have a German watch to wear in Switzerland for the sake of variety :)
Last is my everyday Hamilton Jazzmaster.
Oh, and I suck at watch photography, but you can see that.

Seriously though the major issue is the lack of shock protection...
I had no idea about that - thanks for the heads up. I wasn't interested in buying it, but it's nice to know.

Neither I'm guessing do some of the people who are paying hundreds and sometimes thousands for these conversions. We are too used now to fairly invulnerable watches, especially quartz and people take it for granted. I could toss my G-Shock out of the office window and assuming it hadn't been stolen by the time I got down the stairs, it would be just fine. Strap one of these conversions to your wrist and hammer on a door a bit too hard and you might find that it needs a fairly expensive repair.

my 6105 is going over to the states, to get a Rolex Trilock crown conversion done.
once that is done, it will be tougher than chuck norris on PCP, and you could throw it off the empire state building (at night with empty streets of course) then dig it back up. -

The Smiths* pocket watch I bought arrived.
It's loud! The ticking is stupidly noisy
Need a chain now as it didn't come with one.
Unsure how good it keeps time yet, but will serve its purpose I'm sure.*no, not Morrisey

It's loud! The ticking is stupidly noisyThe girlfriend banned my pocketwatch from the bedroom because the ticking was driving her insane. I must service it so it's a bit quieter, but those Smiths can be really loud.
Thanks for that, Dwayne... Unfortunately, the watch isn't working properly so it has to go back... Not having any luck with watches on eBay at the moment... :|
