Really nice. I tried a vintage Seamaster on in Somlo antiques yesterday. I prefer yours.

Thanks again. Still learning. Model making skills from architecture school helps I guess.
Tools and small bits of leather is cheap and I find that you can get a long way with basic stuff and improvisation. -

It's a Fifty Five Fathoms - a knock off of a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, one of my grail watches.
Got it second hand from the 'bay, really like it.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to the price, they made 1,948 of them (mine is 1,570 IIRC), and a look on Chrono24 shows them ranging from RRP to a couple of thousand pounds over.
It's far too early to tell what that means for ten years time, but it's clear that some people are trying to flip them for a profit at this early stage, so it will be interesting to keep an eye on the market.
I really like mine, and I'm looking forward to wearing it - but not today. Today I'm going mountain biking.

That looks a lot more “actual vintage” (as opposed to “faux vintage”) than I was expecting. Very nice, & classy.

Can I ask how much you paid? 😊

Any pointy thing will do.
Try that thing you get with your phone to open the sim tray. -

One fiddy.
Yeah, so I settled on the Seiko 5 in the end. Thanks for all your help.
Now I just need the right tool to remove links from the bracelet. My hope is that somewhere on Ebay there is a reasonably priced tool that will let me do just that?
