I almost got a sinn today. Been kind of hankering after one for a bit now. Second hand one came up and sort of half agreed a price with the seller then someone came in and offerd him full asking.
Couldn't afford it really so probably no bad thing. Was one of the ezm3 models. How you find your sinn?
B.
I love my Sinn.
The movement needs tuning as it's started to lose a little per day, but that's just the case with any mechanical watch eventually.
I've had it for 9 years now without any maintenance and I wear it daily, whilst riding, going out... constantly. I've even been in some accidents wearing it and gauged out a bit of the case but the watch remains perfect.
For the price, and for what you get, they are bargains. Swiss movement (the ETA Valjoux), german case design.
I don't think that sub-£1500 I'd chose anything different, though I only paid £550 for mine (new) when I got it.
If I had more money then it would be different... I'd go for one of these: http://www.ninanet.net/watches/others05/Mediums/mlanged.html
But I don't... so I'm very happy with the Sinn.

I want this. It's a black chrono version of my current beater.
That is all.

^thats pretty nice for a Seiko

Double checked. It's quartz and my beater is auto so it's back to vintage I go.
Anyone got any suggestions for a cheapish chrono?

If you want to stay with a Seiko, the 6138 movement is the most readily available chrono movement.
This eBay search shows quite a few designs: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l2736&_nkw=Seiko+6138Outside of Seiko, my favourite is this: http://www.steinhartwatches.de/en/Nav-B-Chrono-47mm-black,397.html bit spendy though

Yeah, I'm basically bidding on all of the current ebay Seiko chronos :)
I've already got a Steinhart Pilot GMT. Very nice, though the looks divide opinion. :)
I wouldn't spend that much on a beater though. Max £200 -

£200 for an automatic chrono is asking a lot! I would say one of the eBay Seikos is the way to go.

why half of those Seikos are been sold from Thailand, Philippines or Costa Rica?

Or Turkey and Argentina? Are "Buy It Now" only and have minimal pictures?
Those are called "fraudsters"

Oh. And there's one guy in Singapore who calls everything "Minty." Ignore him too.

More importantly, why do I still get "from Thailand" items when I specify "UK only" listings in the search? It's bloody annoying having those dodgy forruns infiltrating the listings.
