Cheers for that D.
I'm currently having a life laundry and ridding myself of loads of stuff I really don't need. Slowly but surely I'm getting closer to the magic number and in a couple of months I'll be there.
I'm amazed at some of the stuff I've managed to acquire over the years that I'd assumed was totally worthless to me because I didn't wear it/use it anymore.
I know that the missus will hit the roof, but my excuse is that I work really very hard indeed.
Besides a man is allowed to treat himself, isn't he? Some fella's spend theirs on happy endings and bugle - I like to invest mine relatively wisely.

I'd also like a box for them, but all the ones on the market are awful.
Truly russian in taste and style.

Well, that's what I tell her anyway.

Besides, I'm trying to build up the fund in my paypal account but keep finding bikes/componentry that I manage to convince myself I actually need.
Damn you forum and your decent prices!

Can't wait. I need a sensible (dress) watch, and all the watches I own (bar my Explorer 1) have a function so to speak.
This WILL be the last serious one I buy - and Patek's are way out of my league - their steel watches start at 9k!
WANK!
Not! ;-)

Anyone know where I can pick up some polishing compound (scratch removal stuff) in London?
I've got an old Seiko that needs a few light scratches removing on the glass.
edit: googling says it's Polywatch that I want...
-
• #3437
Polywatch, brasso, autosol. Take your pick really, depends if it really is glass or not because glass is quite hard to polish and I doubt polywatch will make much of a dent in it.

It's acrylic crystal (a 60's domed Seiko).
I had an order that was due to be shipped with WatchObsession today so I just rang them up and added some Polywatch to my order. We'll see if it does the trick!

Has anyone posted about the watch designed by Graham Obree yet?

I like it.

I kinda like it, the red is a bit too much IMHO.

£145. Hmm. Want.

Oh, by the way, Brasso took the edge off of my Swatches ugliness. There are only a couple of deep scratches left, but at least I don't need to bin it.

Yep. Dec 2010. :)

Strap arrived for my eBay Seiko today... £45 including new strap / postage etc.
Just needs a few scratches polishing out of glass -

the crown at 4 is a nice touch.
-
• #3447
Thanks G!
Only some of the 60s Seikos had the crown at 4. I think the movement could do with a bit of a service but at the moment it's running quite nicely.

My mum had My Citizen eco drive made smaller (so my little brother could wear it! :S), but now the bracelet has broken, the metal pin(?) has come out, as it's titanium do I need to go somewhere in particular to get it fixed, or should anywhere do?

You need to scrap one Moot bike to repair it. Think about the bikes!

Anything take your fancy?

I'm undecided as to whether this is something I would use, or gimicky and foul:
That's well nice!
It actually reminds me of a Patek's replica I had.
