I'd like to own a jump hour watch one day but it won't be that one, partly because they all sold out a few months back.

They're still available on site - they have maybe 15 serial numbers left.
Yours for $11,500 each.

That is lush!
Thoughts on daytona style? With big pusher style buttons?

I do like the Intramatics but my next Hamilton chrono will be a pilots one.

Can anyone recommend a watch repair place near Liverpool Street?
The acrilic crystal popped off my other half's GP and I want someone half capable.
Most places I've found seem to be trade only.
City Watch in the Arcade said they send it off, and quoted >£90 to service a automatic watch (my skx013 is running slow).
Clarkenwell may also work, although if I'm going that far I may as well go to Hatton Garden.
Cheers

Is it literally just putting a domed acryllic back on?? Even older Timpsons stores should have the Bergeon tool in a drawer. 1 minute job

Lush, but wait for the Smiths before making your mind up.

Yes.
I was hoping to have the acrylic polished as well.
But I seem to be totally failing at getting it done this morning. The place on St John's street I tried this morning on my way to work only does trade, and none of the places in Clarkenwell seem to be there anymore.

I quite like the Heuer Calibre 18 in that style, it's a bit pricey though and it has a telemeter scale instead of a tachy scale which might be at odds with the "driving" angle.

Has anyone got an HMT knocking around they want rid of? My dad's a bit of an indophile so i was thinking of getting him one for a christmas present.

Called a shop. They said they should be able to.
Woman takes it to a guy to "check if it needs to be replaced". Guy tries to push it in with his thumbs. FFS.
This is why I'm going to have to take it to a fucking watch specialist, because everyone else is fucking retarded.

Cheers. I'll try them.
Next question is where to park a motorbike now all the parking at the end of St John's Street is dug up.

You may remember me mentioning this seamaster cosmic a few pages back and saying it was my daughters. Well she has decided that as she has her moonwatch and only wears that , she wants to sell it. So before it goes on the ‘bay if anyone fancies it pm me. Oh and I didn’t send for service as I found paperwork that said I had done it about 5years ago and it was used sporadically since then, and is keeping really good time.

a super early version of the thought process used in the spring drive watches.
I saw a video about that the other day. Spring drive looks great but $$$.

I know.
Maybe it's because I've installed headsets, but it seems so obvious that it needs a simple tool to evenly press it in.
It's not hard or complicated, you just need to know what you're doing.

It’s true that some crystals can be fitted with a finger....... but if it’s domed why risk it?

Spring drive
It's an incredible tech. Maybe a next watch purchase but nothing spendy will enter the collection until we've moved house early next year.

I’ve seen the “entry level” spring drive model, the SBGA285, from Watches of Mayfair for about £2700. Would very much like one of those when I grow up. I like that they’re very clean and minimal and a bit less flashy than a lot of GS stuff.
I suddenly remembered it when @ChainBreaker said "driving" piece.
