Nah, if its not broken and you're not OCD, its fine. Just seemed odd, that's all. Looks lovely.

On the subject of digital beaters, this arrived ten minutes ago. If you can call a £200 watch a beater that is.
First impressions are very positive.

I've just finished setting mine up, annoying that Brisbane isn't one of the stored cities so I've had to use Sydney then type in local longitude/latitude to get the sunrise/sunset mode to work... All good now, temperature and altitude calibrated as they were way off... Fun little watch that I don't need to worry about... :)
Thanks, Ash!

No its really legible. Very pleased with it. I've also ordered some black PHD bullbars to make it look even more badass and protect the crystal for when I inevitably fall off

Nice! Did you get stung with import tax?

Ideal summer watch and ohh it also comes in a pepsi bezel version

Yes, £45 in total including the bullshit £11 fee from Parcelforce. The watch arrived from Japan within 24 hours but then took 12 days to make it through customs and be delivered. Piss poor.
Its a bit weird using a digital watch that isn't a Casio as the controls are different to what I'm used to. I'm very happy with it though.
The bezel is bidirectional and doesn't click which I was initially disappointed about but after having a play with it I think its an improvement on the usual clicking design. The tuna can shroud literally makes it impossible for the bezel to move accidentally. Clicking, and thus unidirectional limit is thus unnecessary. The tolerances on the bezel are also perfect which makes it even harder to accidentally move it.
The display lights up when you tap it which is a nice touch.
The strap is soft and very comfortable.

I was tempted by the pepsi but everywhere I looked was sold out.

I've just emailed Alsal about it and they reckon £20 to re-align it (so long as it isn't symptomatic of a bigger issue) so will probably go with that.
On a separate note, a quartz watch ticking every couple of seconds indicates the battery is going does it? Will changing it myself ruin the waterproofing (it's used for swimming sometimes)?
One of these if it makes any difference:

Weird, it was fine here... at least, the temperature was correct when off the wrist as per manual instructions. Glad it arrived okay, hope you enjoy the little pouch bag I made and stuck in too.

I’ve decided I need (hah!) a grab and go, quartz 3-hander. Not a diver, not a chronograph, not a swatch, not a fashion brand. Under £500, ideally a lot under. Any suggestions?

Seiko Kinetic?

Vintage or modern?

Jazzmaster?

Seiko - maybe, but I already have three Seikos. Citizen, perhaps?
Vintage/modern - maybe more classically styled, but not dressy.
Jazzmaster - good shout, I’ve never had a Hammy. Maybe a Khaki Field Quartz?

Sorry, I realise my vague requirements rule in about 50% of the watches available on the planet.
-
• #28271
£500? Why quartz? You could get a Khaki Auto for that.
-
• #28272
I have enough mechanical watches. Sometimes (like today) I just want to chuck something on without faffing about setting the time and date. So, laziness basically.

Michel Herbelin? Too dressy?
Don’t discount Rotary either, easy to find a million options.

Pic or it didn’t happen
