Great idea and congratulations on finishing.
So.... what's the next grail watch?

No more. I wouldn't have bought this one had I not saved specifically for it. I have a young family now and priorities.
I think I have a pretty good range of watches, so don't feel the need to fill any gaps, and also I have some nice watches I'm comfortable with. I wear them all without a second thought and get a lot of enjoyment out of them. Every now and again I consider selling them all and consolidating into one 'better' watch to see out my days, but aside from sentimental attachment to the ones I have, I'm always stopped by the fact that there is a limit to the value I'd be comfortable wearing.

It looks great Sanddancer! Always loved the look of these but due to the fact I never dress up/formally for occasions I feel one of these would sit in a case all the time. Does it feel more wearable in the metal?

Has anyone bought from 'Creation Watches'?
-
• #22031
Yes. They're good - quick delivery and usually pretty competitive on price..
-
• #22032
You won't be able to send the watch back if you don't like what you've bought. They won't refund watches that have been put on the wrist, which is pretty annoying

I did consider this a fair bit in the run up to placing the order. It's certainly a dressy thing, particularly in gold, but because it's pretty small and discreet, I don't think it'd ever really appear out of place. Personally, I'd rather wear this with jeans and t-shirt than I would a Sub with a suit.
It's a very strange watch. Super comfortable, wears surprisingly large for something only 25.5mm across, but when you really look at it, it's miniscule. The second hand must be as thin as a beard hair! It's so well finished and detailed though; the printing of the text is incredibly sharp but impossibly small and the guilloche, especially the round dial is crazy.

Saw those earlier. Really, really nice.

Been thinking of getting a vintage hand wound, two register chronograph for a while and then this thing appears. Fucking sold.

• #22037
€479 as well...

• #22038
That's quite big money for a watch with a £50 Seagull movement in it.
Well, it would cost me £70 to buy so I assume you would get it for £50 if you bought enough.

Cheers. SKXOO7 is £154. Seems rude not to.

Seems decent value to me. Nice brand, design and quality watch. The one ^^ above is the real looker

• #22041
I've fallen quite madly in love with this...

Agreed. Lugs are a bit controversial though...

Don't mind a controversial lug over here :)

A thread started on TZ-UK a few days ago regarding Creation Watches - it seems that the days of buying from them and escaping customs charges are over - they're now declaring the full value on shipments and there's numerous reports of people being hit with customs charges and handling fees

Can confirm this, was hit by duty (Netherlands though, not sure if that matters)
-
• #22046
Previously they used to declare as measuring instruments with a nominal value I seem to remember. May have been caught out once too often.

Hmm. Thanks for that. Sounds like it might be more trouble than it's worth then.
I am keen on a SKX007, though - any suggestions of where I'd be best to bag one?

• #22048
I may have one for sale soon. Mentioned upthread. I just need to get my act together with some pics for a sale.
Full disclosure - I have an interested party already.

Nice one - cheers.

I just bought an SKX from Creation and was stung for £41 taxes.
The chapter ring is loose and moves around so I'll have to get that sorted as I'd have to pay postage back to Hong Kong for them to sort and I worry I'd get stung by customs again and the replacement could be exactly the same.
I'm going to mod it anyway so I'm not too bothered but I don't think I'd buy from them again. I'd probably go to Yorkshire Watches and pay a little extra for less hassle.
Delivery was incredibly quick though.
Passing the course is reason to buy another watch.
One for finishing, one for passing (or failing, get a consolation watch)
