They sell quite a lot of their more expensive watches in there and their usual prices aren't the cheapest.
Lots of lawyers looking for late birthday presents etc.
I had a funny conversation about Grand Seiko with them. They just couldn't accept that a Seiko could be worth more than a few hundred quid. Just didn't compute.

Some of the guys at EFHC design and print their own dials. I've seen them and they are great. Could be interesting further down the line.....

Hard to say really.

I think I've decided on the Mudman anyway. Kind of resigned myself to the fact that I'm going to find faults with all digital watches and the myriad of options and screens. Just want something I can use on the MTB or swimming in the lake and not worry about. Already feel like i'll be too precious with the Seiko.

Thanks mate, watching!
That would be a hell of a challenge. I have been looking at 7750 movements recently. Considerably more grown up than a basic manual or automatic movement.

Lots more little bits to lose I imagine :-)

I know it's a very basic way of considering a movement but there's a couple of Sinn watches I'm looking at, one has a 25 jewel Sellita SW300 the other (almost the same but with a 24hr gmt hand) has a 21 jewel ETA 2893-2.
All things being equal are the Sellita movements considered not quite as desirable?

I found my next project. A chrono movement wasn't intimidating enough so I thought I'd have a crack at a moon phase :P
It runs but stops after a few minutes. Should be easy enough to find parts.

I can only speak for myself but I see no difference in desirability between a Sellita or an ETA movement.

Un/fortunately I missed out on the Helson Blancpain homage on ebay yesterday. Goddamn.
-
• #19973
Supposedly more prestige with the ETA as it's Swiss...
-
• #19974
Sellita is Swiss too. ETA used to outsource movement production to them.

Is it? Ah... Never mind
Haha - I asked them what had gone wrong with mine. He asked if I understood how watches work so I said I'd have a go at understanding if he explained - he just shook his head and said he'd made it work again. Can't argue with that.
