  • I'm almost certain that this is my next watch:

  • Welcome back.

    Lovely choice.

  • Haha HOMOS

  • Pffft,,, as soon as anyone hears the price, they'll get cold feet anyway.

Yes that's what usually happens , then I sell it elsewhere and everyone asks if it's still available !

  • I can assure you that I would have bought at least one watch from you by now if I hadn't been able to find the same watch for cheaper elsewhere.

  • I like the Metro and I remember reading about it on Dezeen.
    Pretty spenny though.

Works out at about £2,400 at current EUR to GBP conversion rates...

I think that's worth it considering the engineering that has gone into it. Obviously I'll have to find one to try on first though.

Have you asked me about anything specific? Yes my feelings about discounting limited supply and or desireable product like Rolex Submariners/sports or Tudor anything are well known but its always worth asking me via pm about anything else . You are all my "mates" on here so I would always endeavor to help if I can , certainly on servicing etc . Also if I have anything long in the tooth or discontinued I can always do something at " mates rates "
Plus anything I sell via the forum I make a contribution of at least 1% to the forum , you can check but I paid £ 50 via paypal today .
    Give me a shout .

  • I was obvs kidding about PM-ing ejay but that is the nicest Rolex I think I've ever seen... #blackblackblack

Sorry, that did come across as rather barbed.

  • Is cool bro . But seriously try me for bits and pieces . Watches are not only my living but my passion as well

  • ^ What can you do me on a Seiko Ninja Peni? It's a gift for BlueQuinn :)

  • Too Kind.

  • Oooooo, like ^

Why do I have so many black face watches?

  • Yeah, I like that.

  • Yes that's what usually happens , then I sell it elsewhere and everyone asks if it's still available !

Er no. It works both ways. If we know someone is selling we try and put business their way but, thus far, your prices have been well off. You came across slightly bitter about Van Uden's Pelagos- almost like you wanted something to wrong.
If you can within the ball park, I'd happily go through you.

  • stunning!

Why on earth would I want anything to go wrong with Van Udens pelagos ? He and myself had a really light hearted banter over the previous months about Grand Seiko for one thing , you know a bit of a laugh in fact I sourced a new Grand seiko brochure and sent it to him cos a mate of mine is the seilko rep . So why on earth would I want anything to go wrong with a product we will be selling in September when launched again in UK . Outrageous . And I dont remember you asking me about anything else other than a Pelagos yourself . Have you bought one then ?cos its all a bit hypothetical if not .

  • Not sure why all the hate. He has access to watches. We like watches. His price may be too high or not. No need to buy it. He is a little sensitive but that may be to the pack attacking him.

So let's move on and look at pretty watches and rolexes

  • ^ thankyou . I will just post some pics when we get anything interesting thru the door and try not to be too sensitive .

  • FWIW ejay is a top bloke. Met, drank coffee, saw shop.

Be nice, he knows his shit.

  • Like he's gonna flog his 21st birthday present to you ragamuffins!

    This

Honestly, you lot are like chrono-vultures. Leave the poor man's watch alone, it was his 21st birthday present for Pete's sake!

    ;)

    And this.

But, if he does make the worse call of his life, I got dibs.
    :-)

Nobody is doubting this. He seems like a decent chap. He obviously knows a shit load more about watches than me and many others on here too.

Ejay...I think the above quotes got some backs up because you have quoted very high to some people on here. Particularly for the Pelagos. The quote you gave me for a Black Bay was competitive but still more than your competitors. Quote us less than your rivals and we will buy.

Anyway, I don't want to ruin this thread. Ejay...you know your watches and run a business and we appreciate that. I'm sure you offer a great service experience. However I think some people (me included) object to references to mates rates and good deals when we can get better deals elsewhere. Your most recently posted Rolex is case in point.

  • The point is that we don't actually have to buy these things - it's not like he's called on a kilo of bugle on our behalf and now we have to buy it.

If products are the right price then they will be bought and sold - it's painfully simple mathematics really. In a store there are various factors and limits which positively cannot be dropped below because of overheads and costs. Yes, some careful internet research may produce better prices, but look at the difference between purchasing something from a one-man-band for fifteen hundred gn and one from a corporate for seventeen hundred gn. Personally I'd go for a corporate - peace of mind isn't expensive at two hundred quid...
