  • Anyone following watchbusta on instagram?

  • Hi folks. I'm in need of your expertise. I don't know so much about watches, and as it was ending i put a hasty bid in for a watch pretty much the same as the one on this link; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/genuine-vintage-SEIKO-5-AUTOMATIC-JAPAN-MENS-D-D-WATCH-WITH-WARRANTY-BID-2-WIN-/181410112307?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item2a3ce2a333

(sorry for shit link-ness) my watch was bought off these same people. It's an awesome colour green, and doesn't have the 'Japan made' bit. but other wise the same. Im not fussed if its genuine really, except its stopped. And sending it back to india doesn't really appeal (costs and such). I've taken it to an H Samuels who say if its fake, they'd have to confiscate it! Any advice on the real-ness of it. and what to do?
    Cheers!!!
Same thing happened to my Seiko 5 I recently bought from an eBay seller in India - It was less than a tenner though. After wearing it for a week it decided to stop...Sent it back today, it was something like £3.90 to post to India.

  • I have a shiny new Pegalop in a sealed package in my bag. I'm too excited to open the package so it could in fact be a sealed package containing a lump of rusty metal weighing about the same as a Pegalop.

I will open it in the morning and take some pictures :)

    5:50.... can anyone ID it?

    looks lovely....

and yes, I managed to lose myself in Youtube again

  • I got an unfunny failed pop act?

  • The watch look like Christopher Ward...

    You are not alone...Ernst Benz.

  • I'm really chuffed. It's amazingly light to wear, chunky but being a big bloke it doesn't look ridiculous, the finish and attention to detail are remarkable.

Still hard to believe that by shopping around I was able to save 1k and for me this was the difference between getting the watch and not getting it.

Here are some pics as promised. From package to Pelagos:

  • Good work! Particularly love the clasp and the machined edge on the bezel on those.

  • True, that knurling is lovely... Nice one, Joel!

  • Look at that nurling! rubsknees it like my faithful micrometer...

  • Very nice indeed.

  • Yep, very nice. I like the snowflake hands.

  • How much did it come in at, in the end?

  • ^ the question i was too polite to ask.

  • Where did it come from ? Is the guarantee stamped officially ?

  • £1k saving, you say? This changes everything...

    Apart from my bank balance...

  • Maaaaaaaan, proper watch, proper jell

  • £2k IIRC, it was upthread

  • Where did it come from ? Is the guarantee stamped officially ?

    Italy and yes.

  • Looks good . Usually if a saving sounds too good to be true it usually is . I don't know if I would take that risk from abroad .

ah shit. Sounds like the same people.
According to the ad I'm still in the guarantee, and if its only £3.90, I might send it back too.
I wouldn't mind, but its theres not a new one on the market that looks quite as nice.
